Star Trek 1x00 The Cage

I just wrote in another thread one of the things I love about Star trek is its ability to show all sides of the argument.

There is no bad guy in this, just poor choices. Its one of the things Star Trek taught me at a very young age, compassion and listening to another’s point of view before judging.

Not to worry though. Before the fish died, I mind melded with it and am now carrying its Katra

Awww man. I can’t even remember how many Betas I went through in college. Keeping those things alive is teh suck.

Only when it’s got musical accompaniment. :stuck_out_tongue:

Amen brother.
It’s true. Episodes often end with a nod to the devil’s advocate point of view, sometimes voiced by Spock, sometimes by Kirk, sometimes by McCoy.

Just go out and hire a Talosian so they can give Cassie the illusion of the fish still being around.

I like to think that everyone’s got a little Badger in 'em.

IYKWIM

Well okay. I’ll try. But that means violating Star Fleet General Order Number 7.

so are we still doing WNMHGB tonight? or is it too late for you easties?

Except when they really wanted to be judgmental and force their way on others. You know, for their own good, of course.

Not too late for me. WNMHGB is what I’ve been lookin’ forward too

Considering how long it took to obtain it, I’d like to watch it tonight. Although I request a 5 minute recess.

shall we start at :45? time for a potty break

How were they to know we don’t like slavery and captivity? Seems like the bird-thing and orange furry guy were enjoying it. Besides you know these super evolved races that their ancestors destroyed their world they forget what its like to be all little brained and all.

Just one final question. SeelixSeesAll, is this your first time watching ‘The Cage’? If so, what’d ya think?

I was referring more to the preachier examples of the later series. Like the people who lived in peace and harmony and were basically immortal as long as they worshipped the big dragon-shaped cave computer thing. Kirk fixed that though.
