Star Blazers would be my suggestion. This series was a huge influence in bringing me into SciFi in general, it blew my mind when I saw my first episode when I was ten. I remember taping it and pausing the VCR so I could put a piece of paper on the screen and tracing one of the ships. It would be nice to see a through going over of this series, ala Transformers (btw Sean, watching the 1986 movie as I write this

It definately blew my mind when I first saw it. Being a navy brat with a dad on carriers sort of gave me an affinity for the Yamato and the other space “navy” ships.
