“The last time we encountered them was decades ago. Cost thousands of lives.”
And so we have reached the end of season 1…
Oh craaap! I have to setup the second season!!
That kinda made no sense that the scanners didn’t pick up life onboard.
Taylor!! Reminds me of the scene at the beginning of Planet of the Apes.
Technically, they weren’t alive at the time.
OMGs! It’s Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!!!
Romulans! I hate those guys.
I didn’t get the urgency at first. The beginning of the episode just made it seem like Picard didn’t like to be kept waiting with Data’s trivial investigations, exactly the opposite of what we’d expect.
Romulans. Why did it have to be Romulans?
“People feared dying. It terrified them!”
Crazy 20th-century folk!
“They were frozen. I thawed them.”
Makes it sound so easy. I remember watching these episodes after my wife and I were married. It was so much fun hearing her comments. One of them had to do with sickbay, “Oh I broke my arm. Poof. Fixed. Oh my liver is gone. Here grow another. I need one of those scanners.”
“They were already dead. What more could have happened to them?”
Interesting little commentary on DNR or just a funny line?
“They were dead.”
Not anymore. Bev is the new miracle worker.
“Occupation: homemaker. Must be some kind of construction.”
giggle
There was a comedian who talked about that. Can’t remember his name.
“Cancer. No problem. Common cold. Fixed. Ooh… baldness? Sorry, there’s nothing we can do for you.”
The music when she awoke was very TOS.
This episode marks the first time a specific year is mentioned in relation to the setting of a Star Trek series, when Data cites the current year as 2364. This year served as the fixed reference around which subsequent timeline data was placed. Prior to this, Star Trek: The Next Generation had generally been placed in the early 24th century, per Data’s line in “Encounter at Farpoint”, where he established that he was from the “class of '78.”
–Memory Alpha
Oh yes. Definitely.
2278? So Data graduated 86 years ago?
Deanna, I’ve never met a tender Romulan.
Obviously an error.
No TV past 2040?
Glad I won’t live that long.
