“In your position it’s important to ask yourself one question: ‘What would Picard do?’”

I’m going to have to skip out on you guys tonight, my allergies combined with a nasty cold, and the meds to make it so I’m not a walking sneeze monster, make me a bit dazed and sleepy. Enjoy the Trek

Feel better!

I’ll be running late, myself. :frowning:

I may join in late.

I like this episode.

So has anyone started watching this yet?

Can you believe this little girl

grows up to be

Wow! Just wow.

ETA: I just saw some recent photos of her. Oh my! Hollywood has been cruel.

From Memory Alpha:

This episode featured the only location shoot of Season 2, Picard’s equestrian holodeck sequence, which was filmed at a ranch near the L.A. suburb of Thousand Oaks.

One of the things I liked about this episode is that a bunch of time passes. It doesn’t fall for the-rash-decision-after-knowing-someone-for-a-few-hours syndrome. Data forms a real friendship with Sarjenka.

"In your position it’s important to ask yourself one question: ‘What would Picard do?’ "

Sound advice. But I think I’ll stick with WWJTK? do.

“O’Brien, take a nap. You didn’t see any of this. You’re not involved.”
“Right, sir. I’ll just be standing over here dozing off.”

giggle

The writers had to limit the two characters’ (Data and Sarjenka) closeness , because Nikki Cox’s orange make-up became smudged so easily on contact.

Why wouldn’t you help a culture in need? I mean if you have the technology. Yeah. Yeah. Prime Directive.

Now they are going to erase her memory. The culture will not know why their planet was saved. They could ‘Thank the gods’. The Enterprise might have created a cult. There should be a section of Starfleet that checks cultures tampered with. I’m sure Khan would agree.

Sarjenka’s home looks very TOS-style.

Hold up!! Sarjenka is Dorothy from the Wizard of OZ. She ran back to her home and went on an adventure. OK. I’m stretching a bit.

Great moment between Picard and Data at the end.

I saw her on a rerun of Ghost Whisperer on SyFy. Oh, those lips.

A nice, completely wholesome relationship of a young girl with a older man she met over the internet.

Remember kids, not only do strangers have the best candy, they might be able to save your planet, so don’t ever tell your parents about them, OK?

Shiftless Irish. Always sleeping on the job.

Ever read Marvel Comics? There were aliens called the Watchers who had a strict policy of non-interference in lesser races’ affairs. At one point, they decided that even observation had an influence in those observed, so they all started committing suicide.

Take that, Federation.

Oh, Tin Man. I’ll miss you most of all. :stuck_out_tongue:
