Yeah, this is all so sappy, but I always liked it. It sort of reminds of the Horta — a non-humanoid lifeform with feelings, something we see far too infrequently in Trek and sci-fi in general.

You know what’s great for a teacher with a sore voice? Surprise test followed by quiet reading! Do teachers even do that anymore? I remember during cold/flu season getting them all the time.
