I remember really liking the Away Team Sensor Log moments.
The 3-D recreations of shadows was fascinating. I doubt it would work for real, of course.
I was recently listening to the Chase Masterson’s 'casts. She was interviewing Ron B. Moore, the visual effects coordinator for 18 years of Star Trek. He was talking about the longest makeup session. It’s Geordi’s outfit in this episode.

Speaking of Chase Masterson again…I listened to the interview with LeVar Burton also. LeVar talked about the VISOR and how he couldn’t see out of it. LeVar is OSSIM but everyone knows that.
“With the VISOR Geordi can see amazing things, far more than any human eyes. LeVar the actor lost 80% of his vision unfortunately.”
