“Therapists are always the worst patients. Except for doctors, of course.”

You can watch the episode on YouTube

Deanna episode. This should be fun.

Rick Berman recalled, “I pushed for this episode a lot. It was fascinating to me that someone would lose one of their senses and be unable to explain it to others because they didn’t have it in the first place. If you were the only sighted person in a colony of blind people and suddenly you lost your vision and they all said ‘So what?’… that’s what this was.”

UGH!

Michael Piller noted, “This basic idea has been pitched to us every season, with Troi losing her sense of empathy. Finally, because we needed a Troi show, we said let’s do it here.”

OK. That’s hilarious, especially after reading Berman’s thots.

Deanna doing her actual job in the oppening. I like that.

This was on a local public access channel a few days ago… don’t have much to say about it (since I’m fading fast) except that: see? Life is hard when you can’t read people’s thoughts or emotions.

According to Piller, the writing staff briefly considered making Troi’s loss of her empathic sense permanent. Piller commented, “The bottom line for me was that these shows work because the journey is interesting and that what she learns and what she goes through has to be interesting and involving and, ultimately, educational in that we are showing off the stages of someone who has a serious disability, and what they go through when they are suffering this.”

That would have been interesting. She basically did lose them because they were hardly used.

Besides, what would she do? Drive the ship.

Lt. Widow is a truly craaap actress.

I wonder whose niece she was. :stuck_out_tongue:

Maybe she didn’t like her husband. Maybe she’s glad he’s gone.

You’re not gonna believe this. She played Picard’s wife in the Nexus. Remember in the wholesome Picard Christmas scene.

Don’t need no fancy extra senses to plow into a planet!

Wow. No way! Well, she was completely unmemorable in that scene in Generations too— sorry it’s true.

“Oh, father!”

And I see was married to the director of Generations. I wasn’t too far off.

Uh oh. There’s a girl driving the ship right now!! Helpp!!!

“Beverly, I’m feeling very dizzy.”

Not gonna make a women’s issues joke.

“Geordi, what the hell happened?”

Don’t ask me. You’re the one who decided to let a woman drive the ship. :stuck_out_tongue:

Youtube is acting up.

Poor Geordi getting the blame.

LOL.

Hey, I wonder if someday someone in the future will reach 30,000 posts on the forum…Wait …a …sec…Woah!!!

Maybe she just needs a good slap to clear the estrogen from her brain.

Casilda’s gonna kill us. Again.

83 million kilodynes?? OMG!!..Is that a lot?

“What is it?”

I can’t read yo mind, bitch! But I can’t tell you cuz then I’d have to answer a whole bunch of questions.
