“Data, have you got a flush or a full house?”

You can watch the episode on YouTube

Engage!

I haven’t played poker a good long while.

Hard to pull sleight of hand on android eyes.

True.

They mentioned Camus II just now.
I’m pretty sure Camus II was visited by Kirk’s Enterprise.

Back in my day we called 'em Landing Parties or Boarding Parties, not “Away Teams”.

Isn’t the term “Earth Colony” kinda outdated.

I suppose if they’re litterally directly from Earth…

This episode aired in October 1990 — but definitly 80s haircuts, eh?

Unfortunate she-mullet.

I’d graduated in June of that year. Trust me, that hairstyle was still out there at the time.

My parents had a Golden Retriever named Tasha. The dog would raise it’s head whenever Tasha’s name came out of of the TV.

I always thot that Ishara Yar (played by Beth Toussaint) had kind of a Linda Hamilton thing going for her.

Yeah, I can see that.

Oh yeah.
Ishara’s tight blue body suit. I remember that now.
I’ll be in my bunk.

This episode’s sort of weak. I’d remember it being more interesting. :frowning:

Me too. For me, maybe it was the blue jump suit.

But seriously, I remember the idea of Tasha having a sister was intriguing but the episode never lived up to that idea.

However, I’ve decided I’m going to start using Data’s phrase “I have become used to you.” as my new term of affection for people.

Picard “If you lay down your weapons, and join the Federation we will provide you and your people with less…unfortunate hair-dos. Why let your people suffer so with such lame looking hair?”

Learning more of Tasha’s backstory years after she was dead really didn’t have much impact, IMO.

However, I’ve decided I’m going to start using Data’s phrase “I have become used to you.” as my new term of affection for people.

My favorite is from True Blood:

“I always liked you. I’d miss you if you got killed. Just so you know.”

Good night, Thot. Thanks for joining me tonight.

I need sleep. :frowning:

Oh that note, good night to you Badger. I have become used to you.
Not the greatest episodes, but always fun frakking 'em.

I lose. All the time. I am horrible at games of chance…or…erm…skill. Any game I play, I play for fun. I am the uncompetitive.

Yep. They did. http://memory-alpha.org/wiki/Camus_II

This episode was the 80th episode of TNG, a milestone.
The reference to Camus II in this, the 80th episode of TNG, was a homage to “Turnabout Intruder”, the 79th and last episode of TOS. The “in-joke” was devised by Rick Berman, Jonathan Frakes and Eric Stillwell.

I laugh every time my dog barks at the TV. One night she was out cold sleeping and suddenly jumped up startled, barking at the TV. When I finally caught my breathe from laughter, I turned off the TV and tried to explain to her what was happening. Then I realized what I was doing and was in hysterics again.

Totally.

I think that was the appeal, that Tasha had a sister but by the end. Who cares? shrug:rolleyes:

As always Michael Piller puts it best, “It was a good episode because of the performance of the girl and the relationship between her and Data. There’s nothing as poignant as seeing the betrayal of an innocent, as Data is. I was very happy with this show, but it doesn’t stay with me. It’s a show that has great entertainment value, but it doesn’t stick as one that I’ll always remember.”
