The episode was originally intended to be filmed and aired before “The Big Goodbye” with the latter’s holodeck malfunction explained as having been caused by the Bynar’s modification, but this conflicts with the Bynars’ statement that “the deviation caused by your previous probe has been corrected”, referencing the events of “The Big Goodbye”.
