Okay so here’s my admission, I am a geek and I love sports. Sports of all kinds, and I loves me a good sports movie.

They are some of the few movies that are. Simple in the best possible way.

My favoutites are

The replacements yes it neo playing football but its just so much fun.

Mystery Alaska. I’ll spare you all the rant about the. Actual story (for now) but I just love the story.

But we can come up with a list of good sports movies , sounds like fun to me… anyone else

Oh right, good ones. Sorry.

The original Rollerball? Death Race 2000?

Don’t cheapen DR2k with the likes of gladiator;

it was just so awesome, that the world cannot absorb that much concentrated awesome in such a short time.

As for the remake… I don’t know who made it but without reservation burn in hell… maybe I’m overstating the issue: no… no they can burn right beside me.

Ohh good god, why didn’t I mention putting On foil?
Or killing all the golfers
Or Rocky and I mean the last one, rocky balboa was a masterpeice of a sports movie.

Never saw raging bull, just saving it for the right time.

Wow how could I miss slapshot… well I have an excuse but it leads to a rant so ill stop still I should have mentioned it.

Fussball is Unser Leben (90s comedy about the football club FC Schalke 04)
Deutschland - ein Sommermärchen (about 2006’s World Cup here in Germany)

Or the quintessential soccer movie “Bend it Like Beckham.”

Or for those that like the dog eat dog world of rugby there’s “Alive”.

However, I’m always a sucker for “Hoosiers”.

For those into cycling I remember fondly “Breaking Away” and having ran track in high school I’m also partial to “Chariots of Fire” (featuring the Borg Queen herself).

Ah, you also have “The Black Stallion” and “Seabiscuit” for horse racing.

And finally there must be the un-official official sports movie of GWC that is “The Big Lebowski”.
