*SPOILERS* Mass Effect 1 post-credits battle?

My wife and I just finished the first playing of Mass Effect 1, listened to all of the credit sequence in anticipation of deducing how to play a second run-through with the existing character we had been using. The credits end, and I swear we were dumped into another battle immediately with Sovereign (whom we had successfully destroyed?) says something like, “I am Sovereign” and for a moment I saw Shepard facing down a baddie with the red triangle on it. :eek:

Then my wife panicked and hit the green (Xbox 360) controller button, taking us to the Resume/Load screen. We figured out that we could continue as we had hoped, but did anyone out there actually do the battle that I missed?

Please tell me what we missed? Please? :o

Probably a demo that plays if you leave the main menu up

This apparent battle scene happens if you watch the credits all the way to the end after winning the game, and before the main game menu screen.

Can anyone help?

Still pretty sure it’s just like a trailer.

yea i always let the credits play thru a game and it just reset to the main screen for me

And as @DefaultProphet pointed out, if you leave it sitting at the main screen, a demo starts.
