Sorry for the Downtime

And Chuck just proved yet again that he’s pretty awesome.

What if it is in Brail?

That’s actually our family moto… “Don’t be an ass”. My parents used to preach to me “be considerate, be a gentleman, etc…” When I have my own children, I plan to summarize it thusly: “Don’t be an ass.”

Fastest to, or most of? I only ask because I have one of those records already.

Excellent question. I should print those shirts and go to Cancun for spring break to sell these to drunken co-eds and teens. I suppose I should share the proceeds with you, FireBreathingChicken.

My mother didn’t like the language with that, so my brother and I adopted, “Stop being such a butt.”
“Mooooommmm, Connor is being a total butt!”
etc

just so you know, my mother’s maiden name is Ess. It is Dutch, although we consider ourselves generically Portuguese. It’s complicated.

…and this is the reason why Glen Larson invented frak and not fark sorry Barb.

I think the funniest t shirt I have seen in a while I saw in a mall in Toronto last year. It said “Tell your tits to stop staring at my eyes” (sorryBarb) I laughed so hard!

Sorry, everyone, for tonight’s downtime. I was performing some upgrades and thought they’d only take a few minutes. (It’s not like I tested them on the dev version of the site and they worked fine – then took a big dump when I did it on the live server or anything. :()

Anyway, everything should be back to normal. And I’m really sorry if I impeded any of the re-watches.

You have a dev version, good boy. But am I to understand that you didn’t use it this time… don’t worry, no stones from this glass house.

Is this why I now have a friend request form Frakkintalos? You guys looking to compete with My space, Twitter and Facebook?

Apparently it’s a new feature introduced somewhere along the way in the three or four small forum upgrades I applied tonight. Leave it to 'Talos to figure it out first.

Also, there’s some issues with the php codes themselves. vBulletin has always been really stupidly written code, and more than once I’ve seen the forum go into an infinite recursion until either the request times out, or the php dumps out buffer overload of some kind. And vBulletin conviniently fails to catch or gracefully handle any of the warnings and errors. That’s just inexcusable in a production software.

You might wanna turn off debug info in php.ini, just so that we don’t end up seeing the php innards splashed across the screen.

I noticed there are tag fields at the bottom of the thread pages. I take it that’s new too. How much you want’a bet the first tag is frak?

I’m willing to wager the “IYKWIM” tag emerges within the first 48 hours…as well as the “sorry Barb”.

Holy moley, we have an “ignore list” in our profile now. Hmmmm…who shall I ignore first?

“ignore list” has been in place for a long time. has come in handy (for me anyway) on the very few occasions when things have gotten contentious. truly a case of ignore them, and they’ll go away

Dear Moderators,

I have sent a Friend Request to Lady D and she has ignored it.
Please troubleshoot this problem and force her to be my friend.

-Thot

This is not a bug. It’s a feature.

Point, Pike.

Pike, I must say it’s an honor to be currently passed out in corner with you in Keara’s sig.
