Boomer gets frakked again.
I realize I am asking this based on a :30 promo that is probably edited with some misdirection in mind…
The Sixes want to put Boomer on trial, for treason (I assume for voting against her model)? Did I see that correctly? And was that Caprica making the request?
I would like to think the FF would intercede here. Cavil has been manipulating all of the Skin Jobs, Centurions, etc. If the FF’s intention was for the Skin Jobs to have free will, and make their own decisions, then Boomer had every right to make her choice.
I realize there is the oft quoted “rule” that individual models do not vote against the entire line. But is it really a rule or has it just never happened before, so it seems like a rule?
What’s with the titles on this show? We’ve had TWO Sartre references (“Dirty Hands” and “No Exit”) and now a Cole Porter?
Wait…maybe they’ll be dealing with Starbuck’s dad. There’s been some pianos in picture lately. (Wonder if the actual song will play a role, as “All Along the Watchtower” did…)
I think this is the episode that Bear was even more involved than usual in… it should be neat! (Particularly his blog after the ep airs, hehe)
Not to read too much into lyrics but “Someone to Watch Over Me” includes a couple of interesting lines -* “Still we’re often told seek and ye shall find”;* so Kara wants the answer to a certain question and may well find it.* There are also the lyrics “I’m a little lamb who’s lost in a wood” and “where is the shepherd for this lost lamb?” – could this be the mysterious pianist (who may or may not be her father and may or may not be in her head)?* Maybe Kara will find some direction to her “special destiny”.* Maybe Kara will get to sing a bit of Cole Porter (since Sackhoff is actually a pretty good singer, as evidenced in ‘Max Bickford’).* Whatever it is – I CAN’T WAIT!!!
Really? I keep hearing Ella Fitzgerald in my head…
I’m loving the musical connection that it looks like we’re getting next episode. Throughout the series, music has been a cue that big things are afoot. Plus, it’s a Weddle & Thompson episode, and 1) they often get the big moving-the-story-forward episodes, and 2) pretty much every season, they do one Kara-centric episode. I bet we find out a good chunk of what’s up with Starbuck.
I love playing “spot the allusion” with the episode titles. Don’t forget, we’ve also had Ken Kesey (“Sometimes, a Great Notion”), Robert Frost (“The Road Less Traveled”), the Bible and hymns (“He That Believeth in Me,” “Ties That Bind,” “A Disquiet Follows My Soul,” “Valley of Darkness,” “Revelations”), punning on Hemingway (“The Son Also Rises”), lawyer Latin (“Sine Qua Non”), Thomas Wolfe (“You Can’t Go Home Again”), classic film (“Guess What’s Coming to Dinner”), and I’m sure there are more that I’m forgetting and/or didn’t pick up on.
I’m still thrilled that, apparently, not only is Bob Dylan in the ether of Colonial culture, but so are Shakespeare, Emily Dickinson, Milton, (I didn’t catch it, but somebody else did) Thomas Wolfe, and Philip Glass–their works have all popped up in a concrete way at some point in the series.
Which begs the question: if Anders=BSG’s Bob Dylan, Tory=Emily Dickinson?
Maybe Daniel=Starbuck’s dad=Philip Glass?
Yeah, have you read his blog for this week yet? Big news:
- he was an extra in this week’s show, in the bar, and
- he’s posting three entries next week to cover everything in the next episode.
I <3 Bear
Aw man aw man that’s going to be great!
did anyone notice bear as an extra in last night’s episode? he was sitting at joe’s, behind starbuck in one shot:-)
Edit: oops it was already mentioned.
Was he the man playing the piano in the bar?
