So who's gonna kill Gaeta?

I guess humanities eventual home wont have buildings shaped like food and with stairs everywhere now.

Who guessed right!

Edit: Oh the dude in my signature did.

Oh Gaeta, what a waste of life, your own included. I would have been more satisfied if it had been the Admiral who shot you. But now, RIP, you once were a good and loyal man.

At the very bitter end, I truly loved Gaeta again. This show is pretty brilliant.

I actually felt sorrow for Gaeta at the end, which is definitely a testament to the show, like you said… I thought his execution would be necessary, but I wasn’t at all happy about it. At least, Gaeta’s last decision was the right one… to hold his fire, and to give up. We can give him that much; that SOB Zarek wanted to fight to the end.

They definitely made sure that you didn’t hate him when he died. That bit in his head talking to Baltar was just heart-wrenching. I’m glad he took it like a man.

You know, I’ve been thinking about this a bit since last night, and I’m glad it ended this way. Sure, it would’ve been cathartic to have Adama or Starbuck shoot him (and Zarek) … but, it wouldn’t have been RIGHT.

We don’t know how much time passed here, but clearly there was some. Enough for a court-martial. Which makes Felix’s death sad, but impersonal. Rather than Adama spiking him in a fit of rage, I can only assume that he did it by the book. Indeed, I bet Gaeta helped with a confession letter. Equally, Zarek’s guilt wouldn’t have been hard to prove. “Why, yes, Admiral, that’s when the Vice President told us to shoot the quorum … now, about that plea deal?”

In the end, I think this was better–both for the story and for the characters.

Yeah, I agree with ya’ll. Gaeta was a well rounded character—not even close to a “Black Hat” villian. And at the end they even induldged us with a nice scene with Baltar and Gaeta, and made me come away feeling some respect for them both.
Amazingly done.

OMGz, that was awesome. ROTFLMsBO.

Please tell me what that’s from. Otherwise I’m gonna be racking my brain all fraking day.

Only the best movie ever- The Princess Bride

Ah yes!! Thanks.

I just finished Blood on the Scales and had a thought: Does it not seem that every time Gaeta is having a hard time reconciling his conscience with his action his leg hurts or itches? It is like a physical manifestation of his troubled or “prickled” conscience.

Just a thought.

Given his final words, I think you might be on to something.

There had better be a reason we had to keep on seeing it. I’ll have to check those eps again.
