So are you Good with the ending?

I have re-watched the finale episode 3 times now and over all I liked it.

Did I get my answers, no. Was I entertained, yes.

I wanted more, I felt I needed to know things but somehow I have reconciled with the truth that I am not going to get the answers I so want to have.

I hope in a podcast format or something else we get the answers, that I can dream about.

So I guess what I am saying is I am good with the finale. Now that the ride is over I am OK.

Ok, so sound off. Are you Good with the ending?

Loved the ending. Would not change a single thing…

I am hearing that alot.

I loved the ending. But the only thing i’d say i didn’t like, well it’s not i didn’t like it, it’s just when Starbuck dissapeared i felt saddened and cold. :(. and then i remembered this is the end and got really sad.

loved the ending. most beautiful piece of TV I have EVER seen.

I thought they wrapped it up quite well, and gave us plenty of answers.
Starbuck was a little vague, but you could find an answer with her.
I love how the head characters were telling the truth WAAAAAAAAY back in season 1 when Head Six told Baltar she was an Angel.

I wouldnt change a thing.
It was a very surreal ending tho, it left me with this tingly feeling. I quite enjoyed it.

I’m growing to appreciate the second half. At first I didn’t like the whole landing on our earth and seeing cavemen (I have no idea what the real term is) and fast forwarding 150,000 years to modern day NY. But come to think of it, I think this was the best way to end the show. I cried during the last 20 minutes of the show. It was sad.

starbuck’s disappearance reminded me, ironically enough, of the departure of gandalf the white. like lord of the rings, it seems like the end of BSG takes the magic of the universe with it, leaving the mortals behind to fend without the powers above and beyond understanding.

my only real issue with the ending is that tyrol should be a tortured frakking soul, and he’s not, and no one cares that he killed tory. she had it coming, but this guy effectively killed humans with his rage.

and i’m tired of seeing olmos’ fluids.

Yeah, it was just too heavy handed. For all of my fears of RDM doing a Sopranos ending, he went entirely the other way.

So say we all!

Immediately after I watched it I liked it but felt some how a bit empty, a bit disappointed. But the next morning I stepped out of the shower loving it.
I thought it was very well balanced, macroscopic vision of the series, a holistic conclusion that now feels just right. Not everything was neatly wrapped up but I did not expect that. In fact I was afraid we might more dumps and that would of been a big disappointment for me. The old journey ends, the new journey begins with colonists and cylons hand in hand, creating a new world, a new civilization.

I loved that the Opera House was really Galactica and how that was presented. The healthy Roslin running through the Opera House looking for Hera contrasting with the very frail and dying Roslin running through Galactica looking for Hera. Then when Six and Baltar arrive in the CIC with the Five on the upper level… oh yea I loved the Opera House resolution.

At first I did not love Starbuck vanishing into thin air. I’ve grown to really appreciate that resolution. It was the perfect end to Kara Thrace.

I love that the series starts and ends with a Baltar and a Six. I loved Head Six and Head Baltar walking through Times Square with Watchtower playing in the background. I did not love all those robots but thats a different thread.

One self-indulgent reason… I (and I’m sure many others) were right about how it would end. They would colonize ancient earth and that we are all the decedents of human/clyons. Sorry I had to pat myself on the back.

Love it!!!:D:D:D

i totally agree with that one. that scene was a bit too realistic for me.

I didn’t like it at first but considering I did my Olmos impression the next morning…I kinda liked it! And funny…I did it in Starbutt’s bathroom!

I almost forgot…I loved the ending!

it was a fun weekend and a great finale except for the excessive body fluids.

mrs. jarathen and i were eating at the time. way unpleasant.

Other than the dancing robots, yup, I am satisfied.

I loved the acknowledging of the mystical and giving us a concrete feeling that it was part of the show without explaining too much. I was worried that we would see the face of ‘god’ and that always comes off a cheesy (ST:Five anyone?). The fact that SB just disappears is explanation enough of her nature.

I also like that they found the real Earth, but in a way that doesn’t deny the natural evolution of humans on our planet. Not that that has anything to do with the quality of the story, really. But it just gives me a warm fuzzy feeling…

Also, by not explaining everything there is plenty of room for us to speculate and fill in the holes. For instance, was the origin of all humans always the Real Earth, with some population of humans removed to Kobol say 30,000 years before the BSG era to serve as slaves to the ‘Gods’? Were humans the original rebellious servants? Did the gods learn their lessons, and then work to bring human and cylon back together to atone for their original sins? Who knows, but its fun to speculate…

Loved It.
I loved that Kara the white was mystical, and that i was not told why or what.
I love the fact the Cavil was so self centered he took his own life instead of giving anyone else the chance.

So one thing on another topic… was KARA the dying leader that lead them there but never set foot in paridise. Or do you still think it was the Galactica? I’m Ok with either.

“…but in a way that doesn’t deny the natural evolution of humans on our planet”

Doesn’t deny…? Dude, they dropped a bunch of white people into the middle of Africa, and then made a half white, half Asian/cylon child Mitochondrial Eve. Maybe that’s not a denial…but it’s some kind of ethnic cleansing.

Don’t get me wrong. I loved this show, and was very moved and entertained by much of the finale. But the “back to Africa” aspect just pissed me off.
