Smallville

I suppose you could consider tonight a Zod-a-thon, since I watched Kali Part 1 from Sanctuary, then Savior from Smallville.

Episode 901- Savior
LOL at Chloe casually hacking into the person’s computer system when they started giving her the runaround.
Emil’s reaction to the gun was priceless.
Lois got Deloreaned back into a train?
Who came back with her?
Woah, nasty derailment, followed by an awesome Superman save.
So Clark is still around? Thought he’d be training.
Why is Clark defacing property now?
Epic opening.

So now Clark wants to fly.
Seeing Lois is interfering with his training?
Jor-El didn’t seem too bad in the first part of this conversation, but he got rather patronizing toward the end there.
Nice Chloe/Lois scene.
Nice tank top, Lois.
Statue of Liberty?
Oh, simulation.

Wow, Luthor Mansion is Zod Army headquarters?
What’s with the lighting? Was Tess’ electric bill due while she’s been a captive?
Didn’t take long for them to drop a “kneel before Zod”
Derek Reese?
And Derek was the one who finally told her about the disappearance?
The train crashed before midnight. Why would it have the paper for the day Lois is investigating?
And Derek hates The Blur?
What’s with the kiss? Oh, covering for them being there.
And now we really have Watchtower.
Good work, Emil.
Don’t you mean “when” she was, Chloe?
Nice tech.
“I’ve never actually said this before, but could you dumb that down just a little bit?”
Ninja girl is Kryptonian?

Wow, Zod hasn’t been a very good houseguest.
Now he’s trying to seduce her?
Zod’s army doesn’t have their powers?
Nice try, Tess.
Chloe sounds a bit bitter.
What’s with the fight club?
Ollie?
Nice detective work, Lois.
And here’s Kryptonian ninja girl.
Jonathan’s watch?
Your world was destroyed about 20 years ago, girl.
How’d she recover from that kick so epically when under the influence of blue kryptonite?
The tractor strikes back.

Ollie, stop feeling sorry for yourself already.
The female interrogator looks familiar. I think she was the female “Walter” on the last season of SGA.
Zod has charisma, I’ll give him that.
Nice evil smirk at the end there.
I do understand the Clark/Chloe tension here.
“I want you to go back and save Jimmy.” Oh boy.
I can understand Chloe’s grief, but Clark has a point here.
“It’s good that you’re embracing your Kryptonian side. There isn’t really anything human left in you.”
This was a plan? Well, looks like Zod outsmarted them.
Derek is working at the Planet?
“Supposedly, you’ve been fired.”
“Minor technicality.”
Corben trashed Clark’s nameplate? I hate him already.
Nightmares of her time in the future?

Well, not much really happened in this episode, but what did was pretty damn cool. Good way to set the stage for the season.

How much of season 9 have you seen?

Other than this, I think I watched the finale and one other episode from toward the end on Hulu.

Oooh. Good to know. i’ll be more careful until you get to the finale.

Derek Reese is awesome. I think at the start of every season since season 7 they starts the show with characters that can only be used for multi-seasons. But in the end they ends up barely using them. Season 9 to me is the first time they really did it just right. All pieces introduced is well used, and their stories well told.

Episode 902 - Metallo
Wouldn’t Shelby be really hungry by now?
OK, that’s a good way to keep criminals trapped for the cops.
I like Lois tracing the \S/ symbol into the dust on the counter.
Why does Corben dislike the Blur?
Ouch. Good bye, Corben.
That was a bit excessively gory.
Half expected him to wake up and see Miranda standing over him the way they cut that scene.
They cyborged him?
Glowing reactor in the chest keeping him alive? Feels like I’ve seen that before.

Super hearing scene? Nice. Random, but nice.
Shelby’s at the Talon now?
What happened to Lois being alergic to Shelby?
“I think maybe I’m the only person in his life he can turn to.” Ouch, Chloe won’t take that well.
Yeah, Clark, feeding Shelby is a bit of a tip off.
Damn, Chloe’s cold.
How can Emil tell by looking at Corben that they took his heart?
Super strength? Not good.

“What is it with you and physical violence?”
Tess is planning a “hostile alien takeover of the world”, Lois?
Blackmail from Lois?
Why didn’t Emil call Detective Jones?
“I understand it took Chloe years to get used to your entrances.”
Crap, if his arc reactor is kryptonite, Clark’s got a problem.
Who is Becca? His reason for the vendetta against Clark?
If he builds himself kryptonite whips, I’m outta here.

“Our” phone booth? That’s where they proposed, isn’t it?
Individually asking everyone for their keys is going to be a bit slow, Lois.
“Hunting down a real life Terminator.” It’d be funny anyways, but with him being Derek Reese, I lost it for a second there.
Zod made Corben?
And I think he figured out that Lois was going to tell The Blur.
Corben is still leaking?

“Clark, what did you think she was going to do? This is Lois!”
EM grenade? Too easy.
That was his sister? He blames The Blur for not saving her.
“Take it easy there, Chippendale.”
The killer escaped because Clark saved a prison bus? I suppose that’s a better reason than I thought.
So this is what’s going to bring Clark back around?
Awesome effects on the EMP grenade.
Wouldn’t the kryptonite still … That was quick.
Heat visioning lead so it’ll cover the arc reactor? Slick.
It pulled the core out too? Cheap, but still cool.
How about “Thank you”, Lois? That’d be a good thing to say to the man who just saved your life.

I think Chloe needs to apologize too, Clark.
“I was beginning to think your family lived on some distant planet.”
Tess has the arc reactor and Corben? Well, he himself seems inferior to Cyborg, but the kryptonite arc reactor could be useful.
The House of El symbol with a guy in it? WTF?

I’m a bit disappointed that they payed off Corben so quickly, but I suppose dragging his story out too much longer would be a little too much like Davis. Some definite progress in the Zod Army storyline even though they weren’t in it.

That gory scene and him waking up on a table, i expected to see Cameron or John Connor standing over him.

I love how they put in all the Terminator references. I wonder what Derek Reese himself would react if he wakes up and find someone made a machine out of him. Very Terminator 4.

So as the title suggests, Corben is Metallo, who has been a villain in Superman comics since 1959.

Episode 903 - Rabid
Kryptonite needle? What’s going on?
Why is Metropolis empty?
Bloody hand print in the Daily Planet? Seriously, what’s going on?
Zombie Lois? Oh boy.

Setting his early warning system back up?
“That was quick. Do you smell smoke?” Nice, Clark.
And then super breath to chill Lois’ coffee to take care of the next crisis?
Ollie was on the motorcycle? It wasn’t green.
“I guess God’s got a sick sense of humor. Oh, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t be taking your name in vain.” Ollie, don’t be a dick.
Wow, Ollie’s being an asshole.
Varro is still LuthorCorp Security?
Oh, that didn’t sound good.
What killed that guy?
Uh, I’m thinking Varro’s really dead this time.
Nice. Tess killing zombies with Lex’s katana.
Is Clark jealous of The Blur?
Virus?
Wow, been a rough few episodes for Tess.
Did Tess just infect Lois?
Kelp salad?
“Do you get motion sickness?” More like .3 seconds to get across Metropolis, Emil.
Airborne virus spread at the Planet? Metropolis is so frakked.
Lois is braining zombies with a fire extinguisher?
Nice fight scene on the stairs. Love Clark checking to make sure Lois wasn’t looking, then using his super strength.

Well, Ollie, that’s a rather extreme way of getting out of a ticket.
Did Chloe plant a camera on Ollie or was it Tess?
Yeah, Ollie’s going full on Tony Stark.
Deliberately released? Zod?
Great music on this great Clark/Lois scene.
Ollie with a shotgun? He even Sarah Connor pumped it.
Guess Ollie has some hero left after all.
“Well that explains a lot.” Great delivery from Gaeta here.
Oh, that explains the kryptonite needle.
The blood itself is the antidote? Thought it’d just be the first step in making one.

Crap, Lois just fell asleep didn’t she?
Yep.
Wow, that didn’t take long.
Watchtower looks way different here.
Creating a storm to spread the cure? Nice.
OK, they must have made a cure from his blood after all.
Why is zombie Lois making photocopies?
What about the zombies that are inside?

Wow, Clark’s being a bit harsh.
Ollie’s turning the corner.
Crap. Guess not. He just burned the Green Arrow outfit?
“And I wasn’t even wearing red and blue.”
That transition to the nightmares startled me a bit.
The CDC guy was one of Zod’s?
He spread the virus without Zod’s knowledge.
They think Jor-El is The Blur?
Zod just killed him?

Like I’ve said before, not a big fan of horror, but the fight scenes were sweet.

I was wondering what your reaction might be to this episode. When it came out I remember fans were rather divided on this. Personally, I don’t know what I really enjoyed it. I am not a fan of horror either. But after being hooked on to Supernatural, I realized what I don’t like is horror taking itself seriously. And this episode is just the kind of campy fun with some great action that I like. I also think zombie Tess and Lois are pretty hot… but that just be me…

One thing I remember not liking about this episode was the CGI plane spraying antidote scene… it looked so fake…

It wasn’t a bad episode. Worst of the season so far, but still about average.

Comments for Echo in a few minutes.

Episode 904 - Echo
Toy guy’s back?
Why’d Clark get there so late?
And why is the guy in the mask still sitting there?
He was one of the hostages?
Love Clark flak-jacketing the bomb.
He didn’t react well too it. Kryptonite enhanced?
Clark can read minds now?
Lois has a crush

Love Clark’s reaction to Lois thinking about her underwear.
Is it only Lois’ mind he can read?
Clark hasn’t put it together yet.
“As loud as Lois is, even she can’t speak with her mouth closed.”
Trying to get Clark to improve his intuition? Nice.
Illegal immigrant?
Well, it’s definitely improving Clark’s reporter’s instincts.
Lois bought Clark a donut then took a big bite out of it?
Monster truck rally? Seriously?

LOL at Ollie not recognizing all the bills in his wallet.
Nice save, Tess. And she looked like a complete badass while doing it.
Chloe’s going to think Clark’s taking advantage of his new power.

Starting to see Tess’ softer side.
“I’ve learned not to expect too much from you, Oliver.”
Is Tess going to be the one to bring Ollie out of it?
Chloe’s pissed.
Clark stood Lois up?
If you need to move fast, why not give Chloe a lift to Watchtower?
No, Lois, he doesn’t get off that easy. Kick his ass
Did Chloe tell Lois about Clark going to the Ace of Clubs?
Is Tess trying to get Ollie removed as co-CEO?
Wait, guess it’s Toyman.
Yeah, Toyman lost what little sanity he had left.

Wait, Clark just lost the telepathy?
That’s not really Toyman. Thought he was in his warehouse.
Robot Toyman?
Ollie just tried to commit suicide, didn’t he?
Yeah, I think Ollie’s starting to turn the corner.

Strikers instead of Belle Reve? What’s Strikers?
"Just because you’ve given up on Oliver Queen doesn’t mean I have.
Does Ollie think he’s becoming Lex?
Tess took Toyman? Then kneecapped him?
Tess gave Toyman Metallo’s arc reactor? Damn, just when I thought she was starting to turn good.
He put Lois’ name first even.
Nice Clark/Lois scene.

This was a pretty good episode. Better than Rabid, but not as good as the premiere. They didn’t really use Clark’s telepathy to its fullest potential, but I suppose there wasn’t any reason for Tess to randomly think of Zod.

Belle Reeve is the psyche ward, of course. Strikers is the prison. I have to wonder which sees more business. d:

I still think Belle Reve would be a better fit for him. :stuck_out_tongue:

Episode 905 - Roulette
Started with a rather literal interpretation of the title, but I’m guessing it’s that villain from the JLU episode I posted.
Car keys? Seriously?
Yeah, that looks like her.
“That’s not exactly the kind of game I had in mind.”
Don’t take pills from strangers, Ollie.
Where is he?
Oh boy, this is going to be another horror game episode, isn’t it?

What’s Lois doing at the farm?
“You know, most guys wouldn’t complain if I suddenly found myself shirtless.” And I’m one of them.
I saw the popcorn excuse coming.
It was a coffin?
Whoever grabbed Ollie knew he killed Lex?
Well, Toyman was a logical guess, though wrong.
Damn, rammed by a semi?

Clark’s used food runs as an excuse all night? Didn’t even use bathroom as an excuse once?
It’s Ollie’s birthday?
How’d he get out of the car without the dog biting him?
Nice kick from Roulette.
She’s clearly in deeper than she’s saying, but she’s sticking to the lie well.
Those aren’t cops.

Lois knows Ollie’s password?
And Lois saw Clark in the Ace of Clubs security footage? Oh boy.
OK, maybe they really were cops, but I don’t trust this FBI agent.
Ollie didn’t even think about the fact that he was checking his bank account on someone else’s computer? Bet it’ll be 0 the next time he… OK, not even next time.
“On a scale of 1 to Chernobyl, how big was the fallout?” I’d say closer to Krypton.
Alia was at the party?
“How much farther down Pepper Spray Lane do I have to go?”
Roulette’s alive?
Ollie did actually lose the car legitimately.
“Sorry, but backing off… not exactly my strong suit.”
Nice fight scene.

That’s not Roulette, Ollie.
Ollie didn’t even change?
She got trapped? Yeah, still part of the game.
Yeah, knew it.
Um, if this was all a plot to get Ollie to realize he’s still a hero, who set it up?

The League did it? Nice. A bit dark, but nice.
Does this mean Roulette was just an actor and Chloe made up her being a con artist? Or did Chloe find her and blackmail her into helping out?
Did Chloe bring Clark in on it too?
“Did you have to push with a 3 ton truck?”
“I didn’t think a tricycle would be a strong enough point.”
Lois wasn’t a part of it?
OK, Clark didn’t even know at the end.
This is the start of Chloe/Ollie, isn’t it?
Fun Ollie/Lois scene, with a few poignant bits in the middle.
And this is the first clue for Clark to find Zod.
Cool holo-globe.
So, she found all the symbols but didn’t think Clark would be particularly interested in the Zod symbol (or the House of El symbol for that matter)?
“You do know, of course, you look absolutely ridiculous in that, right?”
So, I take it that Ollie’s tailor made the jacket Clark’s using in Season 10?

I really didn’t see the twist coming until Roulette commenting that she heard Ollie was some kind of hero. Not sure what I think about Chloe going that far to turn him around, but a pretty good episode.

What happened to make you say that?

I liked this ep. One of my favorites from the season. And, yeah, I can see that as the conception of their relationship.

The rest of my last quote:

“You do know, of course, you look absolute ridiculous in that, right? And I got a great tailor, hook you up with a little color, maybe.”

I remember a lot of hate for this episode as well as the last one. But I also enjoyed this episode. It advanced characters. Oliver and Clark mended their problems. Oliver and Chloe went a step forward. Clark and Lois are awesome.

I guess people’s issue was with Chloe and her methods. But Chloe was kind of like that ever since Jimmy died.

Episode 906 - Crossfire
Why are Lois and Clark hosting a morning show?
And Clark seems so enthusiastic too. :stuck_out_tongue:
Not the best time for an argument.
They want both of them? That’d make the whole secret identity thing a lot tougher.

LOL at Clark’s reaction to Lois’ online dating profile.
I take it the fight club girl is one of the kryptonians?
OK, guess not.
Ollie’s trying to pay Chloe’s help forward?
Eyes on the road, Speedy.
Stuart detected Chloe’s hacking attempts?
“By terminated, you mean fired, right?” Hope you don’t find out, Stewie.
RAO Incorporated?
Solar tower?
Zod’s chairman of RAO? Got a bad feeling about this.

LOL at Clark’s complete ineptitude with the TV equipment.
“There really is only one rule when it comes to dating, Clark. Show up.” You should know it isn’t that easy when it comes to dating a superhero, Lois.
Is that Helen’s daughter from Sanctuary? Sounds like her, but looks way different.
They really turned the banter up to 14 in this episode.
Tess isn’t happy.
“No human will ever stand on equal footing with a Kandorian.” Really not the right approach to take with Tess, Zod.
Love Ollie’s reaction to Clark being on Good Morning Metropolis.
Ollie isn’t the right one to go to for dating advice.
And naturally, Speedy showed up at the most awkward possible moment.

“Another firewall?” OK, this back and forth between Chloe and Stewie is fun.
Speedy tried to steal Ollie’s watch?
Mia? OK, that’s easier to type than Ollie’s nickname for her.
Wasn’t Lois’ mother dead before she went to prom?
Ollie bought off Lois’ blind date?
Bad plan, Mia. If he knows you’re close to Ollie, he’s going to want more.
Yeah, told you so.
And count on Ollie to cut through Lois’ BS.
Clark has to watch this whole date? Awkward.
Ollie’s still in love with Lois? Oh boy.
He took that well.

LOL at the stand up of Clark and Lois.
Nice kick, Mia.
Well, Mia bought Clark time at least.
Or Ollie. That works too.
Best bullet time ever.
And then seeing Ollie’s reflection in the last bullet before Clark grabbed it almost right out of Ollie’s eye.
Oh, Lois’ head was still in Ollie’s chest.

“Hello hand.” Chloe’s scanning his finger prints? Awesome.
Chloe’s going to try turning Stewie?
Tess killed Zod’s inside man?
Wow, I love badass Tess. Just that little salute, then disappearing when the truck drove past.
You know, Chloe’s a lot darker this season. Blackmailing Stewie?
Guess Mia didn’t wait and find out Ollie was safe.
They went with Clark’s blind date instead?
Not a shipper, but that was a hell of a kiss.

Fun lighthearted episode. Guess this is the real start of the Clark/Lois relationship.

I loved Crossfire. Hope that’s the last we’ll see depressed Ollie… wait… never mind…

People really like Stewie and Chloe’s hacker banter. I really like Speedy. and who doesn’t love badass Tess… That Tess salute to Zod is still the most memorable scene in smallville for me.

Yeah she went dark when she hung out with Davis. Kinda like how Lana did after Lex incurred her scorn. Martha too, not to mention Tess. I guess the only woman lead who hasn’t gone dark is Lois outside external influences.

Does Kara count?
