Episode 612 - Labyrinth

Seems like I’ve seen this plot before.
Why didn’t they use Belle Reve?
What’s with the random background rumble? Too noticeable to just be random background noise.
So, this just happened to start his freshman year of high school, did it?

Something’s different about the guy who said he was from Mars. He’s the only one of the patients not just wearing white/gray.
Outside the mental hospital looks familiar. Wait, is it the building the Farm was housed in in BSG?

Wow, the loft looks different.
If Lana lives at the farm, where does Martha live?
Nice Whitney reference.

Martha and Lionel are married?
Wow, Varro looks different with longer hair.
Chloe just happened to show up then?

You know, I’m starting to think a Phantom is behind this.

Jor-El soap? Dr. Fine report to Level 3? Love the references to his real life.
The fact that the Mars guy gets attacked every time he talks to Clark should be a hint that something’s up.
Nice move from the Phantom to use Lana for its last pitch.

The guy said the procedure was painless, then we see a big frakking drill start up? :eek:

This is a tough episode to judge. Justice is a tough act to follow, but Tom did a great acting job.

Clark said that to Chloe at the end. As I mentioned, in the dream, one of the Luthor Mansion guards shot and killed Chloe, and he was hit pretty hard by that.

Well, because of my campout, I watched the last 7 or so minutes (the Clark/Martha scene on) almost 48 hours after the rest of the episode.

Episode 613 - Crimson

“You never know when the next love of your life is around the corner.” Cut to Lois. Subtle.
Are Chloe and Jimmy trying to set up Clark and Lois? I’d think Chloe would… Oh, it’s just Jimmy. Love Chloe’s reaction.
Red Kryptonite as the active ingredient in Love Potion #11? And the first guy Lois saw was Clark? This’ll be fun.

Love Martha’s reaction to what Lois is wearing.
And Clark immediately runs for the hills.

Lois seriously got a tattoo?
Uh oh, some of the red K got into Clark’s system.
Bet that won’t be the last time Lois and Clark make out in that phone booth.
And Clark just spilled Ollie’s secret.

Chloe keeping Clark’s secret is breaking her up with Jimmy? I can see where Jimmy’s coming from, but…

At least Lana’s still asking the tough questions.
What’s going on with the pregnancy? Is Lex experimenting on his own baby?
So, I guess Martha’s timing wasn’t quite good enough after all. Lana’s got to find out soon.

Even with the gap in the middle, this was a fun episode.

All we’ve come to expect from years of Luthor Security training.
The guard with the speaking part looks familiar.
So Lana hasn’t mentioned the chisel to Lex?

“I’ll find out the explanation about Clark on my own.” Not exactly comforting, Lana.
Wouldn’t Clark not wearing a coat in weather that cold raise a few alarms if someone’s watching?

It seriously took this long for them to call an episode Freak?

This was a really interesting episode. Not the best ever, but a cool idea. Can’t wait to see how Chloe being a meteor freak plays out.

Well, I watched the teaser, then decided I wasn’t in the mood for the wedding episode. I just listened to a SHoE interview with Justin Hartley that mentioned him being in an Aquaman pilot produced by the Smallville team, so I bought it off ITunes for $2.00 and am going to watch it tonight instead. I’ll post my comments here when I’m done watching it.

Well, so much for that love triangle idea, since it looks like Fake Kara killed Eva.

The effect for Fake Kara transforming in mid air was pretty cool.
Nice fight scene.

Did that just suggest that the pilot was one of the people who disappeared.

AC’s embracing his destiny and training right off. Nice contrast with Clark.

This was fun and a lot better than most of the first season of Smallville (and not just for all the bikinis). I wonder if it might not have made it to series because of the expense of all the water scenes. Do you think they would have used Hartley as Aquaman in Smallville if the series had been picked up, or would they have just not used the character there?

Like I said, it’s $1.99 on ITunes and it’s fun. Lots of familiar faces and a pretty similar style to Smallville. I actually like Justin Hartley as AC better than the guy who plays him in Smallville.
