Smallville

Episode 515 - Cyborg
Wouldn’t the doctor have known about the alarm?
That top secret evil lab looks a lot like a public storage facility.
Energy weapons? Something specific to whatever they did to Victor?

So he took the time to drop Lana off at the hospital before continuing his escape. Surprised he didn’t just call it in or something.
Great stunt with the breakaway tile wall.
Well, now I can see where the episode title came from.

So if Lionel showed up while Martha was on the phone, I guess he’s not the one blackmailing her.
Hell, he wouldn’t ask for money anyways.

Huh, not a LuthorCorp project.
“I’d be more machine than man now.” Nice Star Wars reference.
“You’re not the only one that drinks a lot of milk.”

“What’s he going to do, just keep lying to her and hope she doesn’t notice how different he is?” Well, it’s worked for Clark these past 5 years.
Love that little look between Clark and Chloe after Lana said that.
Guess I spoke too soon about it not being LuthorCorp.

Victor’s leaking.
“This isn’t exactly something you can put a little duct tape on.”

“I have the technology.” Nice Six Million Dollar Man reference from Lex.

Won’t Lois notice all the oil on her couch?

Dr. Kreig sounds like a total d-bag.
And Lex really was in on it? Not completely surprised, but didn’t expect it.

Lionel drove off the blackmailer? Trying to gain Martha’s trust?

“Half my body is straight out of the Sharper Image Catalog.”
“At a price a lot steeper than six million dollars.” Even better one.
Nice double super jump to put the exclamation point on the escape.

“Clark, want to try some small talk this time?”

Is Lionel trying to make a play for Martha? Eww. Suppose I shouldn’t be surprised considering the premature combustion last season, but still, eww.

Lionel paid the guy off?
“Your secret is safe with me, Kal-El.”

This was a big step up from the last episode. Introduced another possible future superhero, though the best part is that it was just fun. I appreciate that they didn’t follow the same formula of Clark fighting the other superhero before working with them (like in Run and Aqua). I really wish Clark had said he had a friend in Miami (or wherever Bart is) who could help Victor if he wanted to get further away from LuthorCorp.

Next is Sanctuary Season 1 disc 2, so the next episode here won’t be for a few days.

I really enjoyed Cyborg too. In fact all the episodes where Clark met another male super hero is pretty great.

if i am Lana I’d be really annoyed at Clark and Chloe’s special bond.

Well, I’ll be getting back to Smallville either tonight or tomorrow, but in the meantime, here’s a badass fan opening credits I found.

Episode 516 - Hypnotic
Professor Founder is back. And acting a lot like T-1000.
Too bad he used superspeed instead of walking out slowly with the shack burning behind him.

Looks like they’re back to saying Metropolis is pretty close to Smallville based on how often Chloe and Lana go back and forth.
Wow, very effective brainwashing there. Is it all because of the amulet or does it enhance a meteor freak power?
Busted by Lois?

Does Lex think Prof. Founder stole the ship or does he realize that he was the pilot of the ship?

What does Simone want?
“Clark is no different than any other red-blooded male - his brain is not his commanding officer.”

Wow, this is insanely effective if she can get Clark to spill the beans that easily.
“S for Simone.” And something else, eventually :stuck_out_tongue:
Is this finally going to be the end of the Clark/Lana relationship?

Crap, Lex is behind this? Not cool.
But it looks like Simone is going into business for herself.

“I fell in love.” “I don’t think you fell. I think you were pushed.”
Yeah, must be just the necklace since that’s all she’s wearing other than a towel.
Nice quick thinking from Chloe to keep from getting mind-frakked.

Government operative? Nice second layer cover.
Nice to see that Prof. Founder respected Lex enough to be worried that he might have found out more than was healthy for him.
“An individual with quick reflexes and vast resources was able to get to it before we could.” :stuck_out_tongue:

Chloe needs to grab something? Something green and stored in a lead box I take it?
Huh, not taking the box with her? What about when Clark snaps out of it?

Prof. Founder is playing Lex like a fiddle here.

“That way I can get away from your running comentary.”
“If necessary, I’m gonna hae totakkyo down.” Good lucck with that Lois.
OK, if Chloe shows up with the kryptonite just before Lois attacks Clark and Lois thinks she took him down because of it, I’m going to lose it.
One finger KO? Not what I predicted, but almost as good.
Martha with a gun?
And then Chloe knocked her out with a rolling pin?
Almost a Clark level quick exit from Chloe.

At least they explained away Lex’s security team not being very good at their jobs for once.
Nice resolution for the necklace. Bit of a coincidence, but I’ll give them a pass on it.

Not an amicable breakup? I felt like the romance ran its course but I thought they’d still be friends.

Wow, now there are many copies. And unlike certain other human-looking AIs I could mention, he really does have a plan.

Even though this was the official start of the love triangle, the fun bits with Lois and Chloe outweighed the drama. Not the best episode, but probably around the middle for this season.

Episode 517 - Void

Lana’s on green drugs? Really bad sign.

And now Chloe knows Professor Founder is still around.
Love Clark’s way of answering the phone by knocking on her door.
A source? Surprisingly cryptic from Chloe.

Good thing Fine was in the Americas since Clark can’t fly yet.
Awesome effect to show him running down there.

Wish more politicians were as forthright as Martha, but I suppose that’s why they call it fiction.
Glad Martha’s calling Lionel on his unexpected kindness.

The ship carving? Nice continuity

It may not be a drug in the conventional sense, but I can see how that would be addictive as hell.
Lana stole one of Lex’s cars?

Seems like a pretty dense Vanc- I mean Honduran forest for the ship to take off easily.

“Lana warned us her roommate was nosy.”

“There’s only so many times you can die before you stay that way.”
Damn, Lance is an ass. Evading all responsibility for his actions. Sure, it was the girl’s fault too, but if he hadn’t come up with the drug, she wouldn’t have been in that situation.
“Cool thing about expensive cars is that they all come with GPS tracking.”

Nice callback to Lexmas.
Wow, this time Lex’s mom has an attitude.
“What, you were already dead. Thought I’d take a chance.”

High enough kryptonite concentration for the needle to break Clark’s skin?
Wouldn’t the solution have a far more violent effect on Clark?
Ugh, disgusting death for Lance.

Jonathan!
Surprised Clark didn’t get pulled back halfway through Jonathan’s warning.
Oh, and they came pretty close to a “truth, justice, and the American way” reference.
Great Clark/Jonathan scene. Think I’m going to miss those.

Chloe’s source was Lionel? Crap.

“They don’t make a card for ‘Sorry I got you killed’.”
“She said she’s very proud of the man I’m becoming.” coughbullshitcough.
Lex has at least as many secrets/lies as Clark. He’s just better at it.

Not the best episode of the season, but not bad. Surprised they went that dark with Lana, but since they did, I hope they don’t just forget about it in the next episode.

Episode 518 - Fragile

Was that intentional, or did Maddie just lose her temper?
OK, the big group of glass breakings seemed intentional.
You might want to get away from that mirror, Mom.

She hasn’t talked for most of her life? That can’t be healthy.
“You might not be able to tell the difference between this and an actual photograph.” Stick figure? Priceless.

She talked to Shelby. And now Clark managed to get through to her. He’s good with kids.
Looks like she really can’t control it.
She can’t do it through walls? Then who did?
Leaving Lois with her probably isn’t the best idea, Clark. It only took Lois 2 minutes to make her break glass.

“As far away from breakables as possible.”
Great timing on the Child Services guy showing up. I’m guessing he’s either Maddie’s dad or works for LuthorCorp and is there to take her to Level 33.1.

“It’s interesting how perceptive you are about affairs of the heart considering you’ve never actually been in a serious relationship.” Tell me he didn’t just say that.
“If you hurt my friend there will be a consequence… and you’re looking at her.”

OK, correction, that’s Maddie’s dad.
Leoben? Oh shit.
Nice touch that even the car’s tail lights were broken.
“Good looking in that psycho killer kind of way.”

Wow, Dad can reassemble glass too. Can Maddie do that, or does she have a degraded version of his power?
Strange how I never noticed that stained glass in the Talon before.

I’m guessing Lex exaggerated what Chloe said to him.

“The doctor told you to take it easy, so you might have to lay off the arm wrestling.”
Lois is going to be Martha’s chief of staff?

“Nice glasses.”

Clark, Jor-El is a dick, but I wouldn’t say he’s worse than psycho Leoben.
“Anyone can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a Dad.”

Awesome effect with Leoben’s glass storm.
And Maddie’s glass blades are almost as cool.

LOL at Maddie drawing around Clark’s stick figure.

This was a good episode. Freak of the Week, but that isn’t bad in moderation. Right balance of sweetness and seriousness.

That was an tough episode to swallow for me.

Hence forth, Lana the Pink shall be known as Lana the Black.

LOL, i did not know that. That’s Leoben? I guess I saw this episode way before BSG.

Episode 519 - Mercy
“I wish you and your people much success with a less demanding company.” That has to be the most patronizing way to fire someone ever.
Not a horror fan, but this reminds me of the bits I’ve seen in commercials for Saw.

And Lionel jumped straight to the Lex conclusion. Too obvious and not really his style.
Lex brought Lionel back in to LuthorCorp. That’s surprising.

“Truth, justice, and the American way” in Martha’s speech?
Well, they’re wrong about how he got the knowledge, but it’s a logical conclusion.

“I hope so for your sake, or you’ll find yourself working in a convenience store watching hot dogs spin.”
Guessing disgruntled former employee?

Ugh, this is a bit too far into the horror genre for my tastes.

“Are you asking me to forget what happened? Because short of a serious blow to the head, I think it’s a memory that’s going to linger quite a while.” Well, Lex, that has been known to happen.

Martha? Oh crap.
Aluminum foil face missed one of the rules of life when he was planning his games. You don’t frak with Superman’s mom.

“Oh, and waiting for Darth Luthor to hatch his evil plan isn’t?”
Wow, Chloe was quick to figure out that bug.
And naturally Lana called while Lex and Clark were talking.

Damn, aluminum foil face doesn’t miss a trick, does he?
“Did you ever think of just talking to him?”
You know, I could see them killing off Lionel to further the Clark/Lex symmetry.
“You want to wait for the security team? Me either.”
You know, Clark and Lex still make a good team.
Lionel wants Martha to shoot him? Jor-El really did effect him.
No bullet? Damn, aluminum foil face is sadistic.
The bug sweeper? Considered that, but it seemed too obvious.
Great save from Clark.
OK, this time Clark looked pissed about Lionel calling him son.

Elevator safety brakes? Nice try, Lionel.
“He’s the kind of son a father can be proud of.” Burn!

Clark thinks Lionel knew the gun was empty?
“You don’t call me that.” Yep, there’s the reaction I expected the first time.
Great scene with Clark and Lionel.
And what happened to Lionel at the end there?

The horror aspect was a bit much for me but this let us really understand that and why Lionel has changed.

poor Lex…

and Lionel is a cylon that can tell the difference between a loaded gun and an empty gun by its weight.

For me this show is one of the best shows. I’ve been buying up every season I can get.oat are around $20 at future shop. I have and always will be a Superman fan. And this show has been a fresh new drop in the mythos of a character that has seen it all. I did get sick of some of the freak of the week stuff. There are a lot of people locked up that knows Clarks little secret. I really loved watching the Lex transformation. And the no tights no flight thing well I’m glad it’s there. I like seeing the conflicted Clark. The moment that he saves that boy in the second meteor shower was the beginning of his accepting himself. Anyways the real reason to watch the show is Allison Mack. Schwing a total 10 on the babe o meter.

‘Smallville’s’ Alan Ritchson: Tom Welling, superhero costumes and married life

Episode 520 - Fade
Chloe’s trying to get Clark back into reporting? Wonder how that’s going to turn out. :stuck_out_tongue:
The guy Clark saved was an assassin? Bet he’s going to be happy about that.

Guessing the TV’s from invisiboy?

Chloe almost spilled the beans on Lexana there.

Love Lois’ exercise clothes.
“I’m a 3rd degree black belt. That means I can’t be held liable for any funeral costs.”

Lex stepped up his security? From what, blind lemurs?
Knew Clark was going to show up there.

“Riddle me this…” Not a Superman reference, but still not bad.
And Clark immediately called Chloe on hiding Lexana? Considering she and Lana are roommates, it’s not much of a stretch that she’d know, but still quick to jump to a conclusion.

Invisiboy’s familiar with Smallville? Meteor freak.

Headhunter? Not very subtle.
Still got to love Clark being afraid of heights.
Invisiboy hired a… companion for Clark?
Crap, now he’s going to try killing Lex to even up with Clark.

Nice stunt with the sculpture.
And nice effect still seeing his outline as he disappeared.

Clark blames himself for saving the guy?
You know, people who know Clark’s secret really need to call meteor rocks kryptonite when mentioning that he’s vulnerable to it. At least the 2nd time people have found out from hearing them mention it.

Why does Lois have makeup on in the shower?
Nice color saturation effect to make it clear when we’re seeing through invisiboy’s eyes.
LOL at Lois reaction when she realized it was Clark and she was naked.
Showering for 1.5 hours? Well, I suppose the apartment could use the Talon’s water heater.
Super hearing to detect invisiboy? Nice idea.

Lana, with how many times people have almost killed Lex in the past 5 years, you can’t imagine wanting to kill him?
“Don’t let him find out from someone else first.” Surprisingly kind of Lex.

Love how Lois completely discounted Clark’s warnings about invisiboy, but instantly accepted Chloe’s.

Silencer doesn’t do much when you’re shooting out glass, Lex.
Lex managed to get him? Nice.
And Lana thinks Lex saved her?

“I seem to be a magnet for guys that end up on America’s Most Wanted.”
“Why can’t I meet a decent guy…” Really expected Clark to walk in then.
Nice Martha/Lois conversation.

Chloe got a story on the front page? Below the fold, but still a big deal for someone so young.
Clark, considering your past, Chloe probably does have a pretty good idea how you felt.

Average episode, but I like the bad guy. Surprised it took them this long to have an invisible meteor freak.

Episode 521 - Oracle
Looks like Lois isn’t exactly a great cook.
Jonathan had already bought Clark’s birthday present? I plan ahead, but wasn’t that at least 4 months?

Jonathan?
Kill Lionel? Jonathan wouldn’t ask Clark to do that.

“Challenging upper management often leads to a bout of unemployment.”
Gathering viruses? That could be bad.
Another seizure? And he’s writing in Kryptonian?

“I can’t exactly search for a file called ‘My Evil Scheme’.”

Vaccine? Fine’s idea? Got a real bad feeling about this.
Nice idea, Lana, but Clark already tried that.

Yeah, he’s so not Jonathan. Professor Founder maybe? Don’t think he’s impersonated anyone specific before, but I wouldn’t put it past him.
Drown them in their own blood? That’s remarkably vague considering how extreme your solution is.
Yeah, Professor Founder (and by the way, I hope they call him Braniac soon, because Professor Founder’s starting to get a bit old).

And the actor playing Professor Founder does an awesome bad guy.

Wait, if Clark X-rayed him, would he be able to tell that he wasn’t human?
“You’re a tremendous disappointment to me, son.” Even though Clark knows he’s a fake, that’s got to hurt.
Way to go Lion-El!

Professor Founder’s been killed twice? Fortress of Solitude and what? Or is Clark counting the last scene?

“So, hell freezes over and no one even bothers to tell me?”
Heck, I could quote almost every one of Chole’s lines in this scene. She’s even more awesome than usual.

“LuthorCorp doesn’t take the threat of an alien armageddon lightly.”
Why did he only need 1 dose to infect Lex?

Scary thing about this whole love triangle is that Lex and Lana actually have some chemistry.
Did the “vaccine” upgrade Lex’s super immune system?

“I’ve had 3 exes put under military surveillance.”
Got to love Lois giving Clark relationship advice given their futures.
“Zod is coming.”

Great buildup to the finale. Nice to see Jonathan again even if it wasn’t really him. And I think Lionel is officially a good guy now.

Chloe is awesome…

yeah, Clark blaming himself bit get a bit old :stuck_out_tongue:

yeah, he’d do it himself :stuck_out_tongue:

Episode 522 - Vessel
Huh, last episode was “To Be Continued…” but there wasn’t a “Previously On”?
Is Lex going to the Caves?
Nice transporter effect.
Followed by a Zod crop circle?

Fortress scenes are always awesome.
Crystal knife? Is there anything that isn’t in the console?
And now Clark’s biological father wants him to kill a Luthor?
“And this is the same Zod whose hobbies include mass destruction and world domination?”

Love that Clark is starting to reluctantly trust Lionel.
Holy crap. Lex just lawn-darted Lionel into a windshield.
Lex isn’t big on keeping his powers secret, is he?
“I have their abilities, but I’m still me.” And that’s the problem, Lex.

Love Lana telling Clark that Lex’s powers don’t change the way she feels about him.
“I don’t know how I ever loved you.” :frowning:
Massive computer virus from Braniac?

“It’s like Y2K on acid.”
Nice save, Clark. Suppose that’s the downside of working in a basement.
And nice kiss. Are we going to get some Chlark before Clark and Lois get together?
Phone call? Got to be either Lex or Brainiac.

Did Brainiac infect the plane? No, he’s the pilot.
Is he taking Martha and Lois to the Fortress to force Clark’s hand?

He does have a strong moral core, Lex. That’s why you’re not already dead.
“At least I walked away with the part you loved the most.”
Nice throw, Clark.
Crap, the knife was networked with the Fortress.
“You feel no pain greater than to see others in agony.” And that’s Superman in a nutshell.
Did Lex get the Phantom Zone thing when he was aboard the ship?

Lex standing on the top of the LuthorCorp tower with the city burning in the background is an awesome visual. Even if it isn’t really Lex, it works for both.

Hint of John Williams music as they zoomed out from the LuthorCorp tower to the phantom zone crystal.

Not quite as good a finale as last year, but it was still freaking awesome. Can’t wait to see what happens next. Only disappointment (and it was a minor one) was no “Kneel before Zod.”

Depending on how things work out, this might be the last Smallville episode I watch on this TV.

My favorite scene in this episode. From the save (awesome) to the kiss (awesomer), it certainly made Chlark fans happy.

Episode 601 - Zod

So, Clark can actually see out the Zone crystal? Well, not any more, I suppose.
Is that thing another prisoner or a monster of some sort?

Lionel just saved Chloe? A few seasons ago, he tried to have her killed. Guess Jor-El really did change him.
“Don’t you have access to some sort of Kryptonian/English dictionary?”

Woah, that pendant has the “S”, not the “8”. Is that the first time we’ve seen the real Superman logo in the show?

Love Lana standing up to Zod there.

Did Braniac wreck the plane’s radio before he left or are all the receivers in range down because of the virus?
So, the plane crashed near the Fortress? Some coincidence unless Brainiac wanted to get physical access to it.
And the Fortress isn’t looking good.
Jor-El actually showed appreciation to Martha? Is this the start of a turn to make him more sympathetic?

“Am I supposed to trust you? I’m running a little low on that lately.”
Jor-El sent her to the Zone to save her?

“This isn’t because I didn’t call you back, is it?”
Jimmy? Have we seen this actor on Smallville before? He looks familiar.

“His feelings for you were also strong. They left an … unplesant taste when I consumed his essence.”
Ugh, that was painful to watch. And Lana pulling it back out was even worse.

Kal-El of Arabia.
Nam-Ek from last season? Nice continuity.
So, was the girl playing Clark or is she playing Nam-Ek?

And Lionel, Martha, and Lana just happened to get to the barn at the same time.
Got to respect Lana for making that choice.
Wait, how did the dagger get to the barn after Clark used it on Fine?

“Maybe you just underestimated me.” Lana can be a badass when she wants to, can’t she?
Laser satellites? How? Did Brainiac modify them or something?

“Trust is for the weak.” “You’re right” stab
Did that take some of the prisoners with Clark? Not good.

And how will Lana not remember Clark showing up and blowing up the Ship’s hard drive?
Awesome fight scene.
“Kneel before Zod.”
Well played, Clark. Isn’t it nice when a bad guy defeats himself?
“My father sends his regards.”

Lois remembers the Fortress? I wonder if she’ll recognize it when Clark takes her there next week (at least it looks like he does from the preview).

OK, so Jimmy means no Chlark? After they had… relations and he didn’t call back, I’m surprised Chloe is so willing to go back to him.

Is this when Clark starts becoming more proactive in rescuing people?

Lionel still knows Kryptonian, Lex still has part of the hard drive, and at least one of the prisoners escaped? Really not good.

Great premiere. The Clark/Zod fight scene was awesome, they introduced a new major character, and had a solid cliffhanger.
