Huzzah!
Awesome! How many people can say the star of their favorite TV show is a knight? (and not the character!)
Congrats Sir Patrick.
It’s about time!! Joining the ranks of Sir Ian McKellen, Sir Laurence Olivier, and Sir John Gielgud. That would be an OSSIM Star Trek crew.
Sir Patrick as Captain Jean-Luc Picard
Sir Ian as Admiral Doucebag
Sir Laurence as the calculating, crafty villain
Sir John as a cranky Doctor/Scientist
Dammit! I was just about to post that.

Sadly, just a few days after getting this honour, and lots of very positive press coverage in the media here in the UK, Sir Patrick has rather gone off on one.
He was at a fashion industry awards ceremony and got ticked off about how the presenter (James Corden, a reasonably well known UK comedian) was slouching behind the winners when they were giving speeches.
To be fair, he had a point. Sadly, he chose to raise this on stage when it was his turn to present an award, and from there it decended into a slow moving car crash with much of it revolving around Sir Patrick attacking the comedian for being overweight, which is not very cool really.
I don’t think either party really covered themselves in glory, but frankly I expect a bit more from Sir Patrick than from a random jobbing stand up. General opinion from the audience seems to be that Patrick completely mis-read the atmosphere and most of the people there thought he was out of order, particularly with the fat gags.
From looking at the footage, I suspect that he may have had a bit too much ‘Tea, earl grey, hot’ before getting up on stage. A bit sad really, he was well on the way to ‘national treasure’ status, but this is not very good.
t6hink this may have helped him bounce back a bit
