I got a headset for Christmas, and it works alright with Skype, but I can’t get talkshoe or shoephone to let me speak with it. It works with another computer here but not the laptop. Talkshoe’s own website seems very lacking on any details.

Who manufactured the laptop?
What operating system runs on the laptop?
Do you run any really cool custom programs that mess with system innards?
What web browser are you using?
What sort of networking are you using? Wired? Wireless? Dial-up?

Talkshoe only uses the default audio input and output specified in windows - so in your control panel make sure that the headset is selected for both recording and playback, then close all browser windows and then relaunch your web browser, go to talkshoe and retry the talkshoe pro client.
