Undergrads was an animated show put out by MTV way back in 2001 about the freshman year of a group of friends going to college.
It was soooo frakin funny!

Though it was not scifi in and of itself, it was very geeky. Many, many Star Wars and Star Trek asides and in jokes. Unfortunately it was canceled long before it’s time, but at least we got a whole season and a DVD out of it.

Very well written, very well animated, no real “gross out” humor as was the MTV Animated style. Highly Recommended to all GWCers!

I used to watch this when it originally ran on MTV. It started rerunning late nights on Comedy Central during my freshman year of college, and I organized watching parties for big groups of my dorm buddies. (Subsequently, I got dubbed “Gimpy” because… well. As if my user name on here wasn’t an obvious giveaway.) It was pretty perfect for that time.

Those of us who still keep in touch still quote it constantly, and I ended up buying the DVDs when they came out. There were rumors for years of a season 2, but it never actually happened, more’s the pity.

Agreed. Sadly, the creator/Nitz has done nothing else since then. I remember the dvd extras interview with him and he was so excited about doing it and continuing into a Sophmore year season.
I guess corporate hollywood shut down his passion :-/
