I thought this sounded cool before I saw the trailer. It’s hard to tell if it’ll work out – it might be too cleaned up CBS family-style to be as funny as the real thing, but perhaps the Shat could pull it off. shrugs I don’t like the way CBS calls it “Bleep my Dad Says,” though - that’s kind of embarrassing, like Sam’s parents in Transformers trying to hang with the kids. It would’ve been better if they just bleeped the announcer saying it.
Yeah. Agreed. It also has the supporting cast of Will Sasso and Nicole Sullivan from MADtv. They are some funny folk.
Yeah, but it’s on broadcast. They can’t even say the proper name of the show, nevermind most of Dad’s funniest lines.
This should have been on HBO or somesuch.
I agree, this is going to be so sanitized for broadcast TV that it won’t be worth watching, Shatner or not. I’d rather read the Twitter feed.

Hrm…yah, this might last a little while, but it feels way to worn out already just from watching the trailer. They have good casting and I can see that some of “Dad’s” lines are pretty good, but his little saying are going to be shoehorned in 15-20 times an episode. One of the joys of Sh*t My Dad Says is that the twitter account doesn’t gush an update ever 20 seconds. You sometimes have to wait days or weeks and then BAM! you get hit with a seriously funny line.
And I totally agree that they should have just one with the good old fashioned bleep instead of actually saying the word “bleep”.
They could’ve even changed the title to “Stuff My Dad Says” and it wouldn’t have sucked as bad as calling it “Bleep…”
Well, they drop ‘vagina’ and ‘fornicating’ in there so it might not be too clean in the end. After re-watching the trailer though I’m more worried about the pacing of the canned laugh.
I still think this suits Shatner like a glove. One liners that require little to no emoting? He was born for this.

Still, The Shat spouting one liners as a coherent Denny Crane? It just might work.
There was an endcard that claimed to show a studio audience for BBT, so it’s possible that they ditched it. (I’m still dubious, myself.)
