OK, I’m jumping the gun a tad, but take a look at the trailer.
Wait, so…is this just to hype up the book? Or are they actually making some sort of film out of it?
It’s a trailer for the book.
Yeah, it seems odd but it’s a strategy that has been used increasingly over the past few years to get attention for a book. I’ve even seen a few on TV (and I don’t normally watch TV.)
I read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and thought it was fantastic. I can’t wait for this one to hit the bookstore. It really is the only way to make Jane Austin interesting and readable.
Gotta disagree with you… though I really enjoyed PPZ, Jane Austen is awesome without the undead, too
I’m a bit concerned about S&S&Sea Monsters because he’ll be removing more Austen and altering the story line significantly to accommodate the monsters. I’m enjoying P&P&Z, but what makes it work so well is how closely he stuck to not only the story, but the text. For those not familiar with Austen, if you laughed out loud, the line was hers.
I mentioned this on Twitter yesterday and suddenly got followed by @JaneAustenFan. She unfollowed sometime today; I don’t think my feed was quite what she expected.
That’s one of the fun things with Twitter, watching how quickly you get new followers if you type “porn” in a Tweet. Cracks me up. I can’t sustain their interest very long either.
