very cool vids up. they also stole the bsg promo music!
Tin Man does look cool in the promos for it. I plan on watching it.
I’ll admit that I’m a Zooey Deschanel fan, which was enough to pull me into the trailers. I’m planning on TiVoing it.
SciFi’s done pretty good miniseries in the past. BSG, Spielberg’s Taken, the Triangle, etc. Too bad the same can’t be said about their lousy B-movies. I’ll check it out, even if I was traumatized by the lion as a child.
Looks good still not sure i’m going to watch it,
i have a lifetime fear of the wizard of OZ it’s the flying monkey thing, sacred the hell out of me as a child and i’ve never been able to watch it guess it’s silly
I was that way with Willy Wonka (the original) for a long time. Think of it through a child’s eyes: you’re watching all these kids make mistakes and likely die for them – pretty damn scary.
Their B-Movies do the job they are supposed to do: Provide mind-numbing silly actionesque entertainment on a dime.
They aren’t supposed to be good quality or even particularly good writing. They are mostly just cheap entertainment to be enjoyed for the sheer lack of quality
That said, some of them have been unwatchable, but mostly they’ve been a good way to waste a couple hours.
i love the fact that they use the galactica razor promo music for it:
and leobin is in it too!
and the lead character’s name is Cain.
lots of bsg relations here.
remember when i watched it the first one, i looked to my mom asked why is the man acting so Crazy and she told me that the people who made the film were eating “adult candy,” it took me years to understand what she meant,
my very first anti drug lesson was based on Gene Wilder, and movie about magic candy, made in 71 its a small miracle I’m actually drug free in my adult life
I plan to DVR the Skiffy Oz. I love Alan Cummings in just about anything- though maybe not a towel.
The original Wonka is the best (the whole man/boy Depp performance gave this mom the creeps!) But I find the tunnel scene the scary part… “we have no way of knowing where we’re going.” Talk about prolific!
I can’t help but think of that bad fox show when they call OZ the O.Z.
You too, huh? That bit might start to grate.
I’m so PISSED that they are using the BSG music for this. Just heard an advertisement for tinman on sirius & thought it was gonna be a bsg advertisement.
They use the boom boom da da boom boom boom music or something else?
I’m pretty psyched for Tin Man. Hope it delivers! It reminds me of a cool game a few years back - American McGee’s dark takeoff on Alice in Wonderland.
That game is still being made into a movie … I hope it eventually gets finished. Sarah Michelle Gellar is going to be Alice and they also have the queen of hearts cast but i don’t remember the name.
Also has anyone noticed the commerials between tin man for BSG are awesome.
scifi is getting a lot of mileage out of that music:
and for the record, i love that game.
ooo, hope someone uploads them to youtube quick!
Maybe i’m too strict, but I really can only suspend disbelief for sci fi that takes it self as serious as a heart attack.
The art direction on Tin Man is great with some really fresh ideas, but I’m a bit put off my the Xena-esque slapsticky parts. groan.
SS
Yah those ads are very cool!
