I think the subject of Sci-Fi babes could be expanded in a blog post. It’s a very interesting topic in terms of origin and the continued use of the “babe.”

As long as most of the sci fi audiance are boys that aren’t playing football… we’re going to have “babes” in sci-fi. PLUS why would you invent a world with spaceships an laser beams and not have something JUST as realistic as an extremly high percentage of people being HOT! IMO that’s what’s wrong with the first Alien… space ships, androids and Aliens … but no hotness!
But that movie is an exception and thankfuly not the rule! And you know what… that’s a good thing. Pretty people need work too. Can’t have all those harsh brainy tough ladies taking the jobs away from the less fortunate girls that only have their extreme beauty to get them thru the day! Who cares if Grace Park isn’t smart ( and I don’t even know if she is or isn’t - don’t care), she’s an actress. If she wanted to be smart, she could eat 2800 calories a day and become a writer.
Funny I should catch this post now… She was a guest at Screaming TikiCon this past weekend. I met up with a friend there who I haven’t seen in forever. He told me that, for him, meeting her was surreal, since when he was a kid, she “awoke his nether region” for the first time…

Yes, I’m a heterosexual woman. This implies that my criteria for finding a woman “hot” are not the same as the stereotypical heterosexual man’s. (ie, like personality really is a factor in how attractive a person/character is) And please note I said STEREOTYPICAL. However, here’s my two cents.
Zoe Saldana has a pretty face, yes. But her body makes me think of a bunch of sticks. Brittle, sharp, bony.
Kandyse McClure is smoking hot. She’s got a pretty face, a curvy body, and a great personality.
But yes, Nichelle Nichols is frakkin hawt IMHO. She has a beautiful face, a banging shapely bod (yes, women can have rockin abs and still have hips!), grace, class, and a gorgeous personality. Kandyse McClure has the potential to reach these heights, but only time will tell if her positive attributes have the same timeless qualities as Nichelle Nichols.
You know. Now that you mention that, I think I have a suggestion for Cons. They should install cold showers cuz nether region awakening flashbacks must get messy.
