Seriously tho, hope you can work something out and make a few events! Will K (or you) be able to make Wootstock at least? 
I so canāt believe that after a year of looking forward to SDCC that in less then 5 days I will be in the air on my way to CA.
So the rough plan is staying up in LA until Saturday, then Costa Mesa until Wednesday, and then San Diego from Wednesday to Monday, flying out VERY late on Monday.
So any advise on how to get to the con from about 10 miles out. I will have a car, but donāt know if I want to drive in every day or if there is an easier way. Since this is my first SDCC I am a bit out of my element (I am normally the planner dammit :)). Looks like I can still prepay for parking, but will need to make a decision soon.
Currently I have no roomies, but I do have a car, but it would just be me. So if anyone still needs a roomie and is staying closer (I can cancel up until 24 hours before), or needs/wants to share a ride let me know.
I didnāt piss anyone off. Iām just the E6 with the most free time on the ship and a subset of skills that donāt do much for anyone when we are in port.
Logically I agree that I was the best person for the job. Just not happy about it.
Hoping to get an update on the leave situation tommorow but last I heard from my department head the leave paperwork had been knocked back to my department head (mr loses paperwork pants) for additional input. I explained it too him and he seemed like everything was good to go. But I havenāt checked in a few days.
I will still get all of Saturday, but the new leave thing I had to route after they lost the first one puts me on duty on sunday. So worst case scenario I only get one day.
And Iām home by 5pm so yeah, wootstock will happen.
Well, I wonāt get to Comic Con this year, but I do have that Thursday-Saturday off. Anyone know details about an after hours meetup? Iād love to hang out face to face with my fellow GWCersā¦and Iāll drag Jimeni along tooā¦

Last year she had to work but she has the days off this time. I really need this leave to be approved, overstreesed and need to relax with my nerdom for 3 days.

Hey guys, been working a couple angles for the meetup location. It will be Friday night, for sure.
I have a reservation at Mimmoās in Little Italy, a couple trolley stops away from the CC, and a few blocks walk from the station. The hub and I are still investigating closer venues. Really hard to score a place in the Gaslamp with the necessary requirements.
Our feelers have been out and weāve been doing recon whenever we can. Vets of the con know what a madhouse downtown can be- especially on a weekend night and during the con! eek! lol!
