good question…
for some reason, i feel like this is a localized split…that they are too far away from their homeworld…that like the earlier- experiment (HAH!) of living with the humans on new caprica, this is just a faction of cylons…
but is this group the “head of the cylon fleet”?
now, if this group is communicating with other groups/fleets all the time- to make decisions and such, it must get confusing and time consuming…
Tory is definitely prone to evil tendencies such as the elections, however I don’t necessarily think that Tory talking Cally down and attacking her is the evil part. After all, that’s what most trained law-enforcement negotiators do. It’s the shooting her out of the airlock after she’s been disabled that’s questionable. Of course, one could argue that it was “the only thing” that Tory could do since her cylon identity and life were at risk.
I do think Cally would have gone ahead and killed herself AND Nicky had Tory not shown up. Society shows that some of the nicest people have done the most abberant things especially when under the influence and extreme stress. Thus the popularity of “I can’t believe he/she would do that. He/she was so nice!”
With all this said, I did like Cally as a character…plus she was cute!
Who’s to say that her initial wrench hit on the chief wasn’t meant to kill and that Galen’s cylon-reinforced noggin just held up well.
But yes, you would think that as parents who have a history of losing their kid, that Helo and Athena would’nt let the rugrat out of their site let alone volunteer and/or assign both to this crazy ride.
Hehehe…I had to snigger at this when I saw all three go in. Cally’s already wiggin’ out over the Chief cheating on her…last thing she needs is to have a picture of Chief, Tigh, and Tory in some triangular action.
As a side note…who the heck is left to defend Galactica and the fleet? Everyone’s on the Demetrius! No wonder the quorum is all upset.

When did Cally become a masochistic druggie? And does anyone else think her drug-induced paranoia is as much to blame as Tori?
And why does it seem that the most true thing Starbuck has said in a long time was “I only married you because it was safe”. And I agree with whoever mentioned that it does look like a Ship of Lights in the painting. And the sense of dislocation and loss of memories does fit with TOS Ship of Light experiences.

How the HELL did that happen? I mean seriously. Ya know…with this being the last season I have the strangest feeling that every episode is just gonna be like this. CHOCK FULL! I mean this had all the makings of a classic 1-off…annoying crazy episode.
Then all of a sudden the cylons start a civil war and Callie takes a flight. It’s AMAZING!
A few things that struck me:
1: I love that caavil is getting some with Boomer. SOmething about that just strikes me.
2: The appearance of the seraphs/orbs of light. Here’s hoping that’s not a red herring but is something important. In the original they pulled Apollo out of death scenes all the time. I’d love to see it happen now.
3: Did anyone notice that the weapons locker was 1701-d? I thought that was priceless.

We have 17 more eps. Wonder how many more minor characters start dying off before we start getting to the major ones. Eddie has said many times and some other actors that A LOT of characters will be dying off. Cally was as good a place to start as any.

How will Tory explain having Nicky with her?
I would imagine that an episode of CSI: Galactica could reveal Tory’s handprints/DNA all over the “open bay door” button. Galactica should have AT LEAST the forensic technology that we have.
Of course Tory could have wiped down everything afterwards, but she did have the chief’s launch bay door key with her along with the baby. She’s got some explaining to do.

I’ve been annoyed with Cally, but I hated to see her airlocked. The flashbacks just killed me. I think it would have been more interesting to see that storyline unfold.
I cannot stand Tory, however. Never did. Probably a lot to do with Billy’s death. How could anyone follow that?
Chief should have told her. Done it right. She would have freaked out, sure, but It’s different hearing hard stuff from someone you love. He could have told her how he was feeling. How much he needs her. Tell her everything he’s been going through. Then told her the truth of who he found out he is.
Tory is an example of how discovery of your origin can warp you.
I think Chief will be an example of how to stay human. If Cally’s death doesn’t force him down the bad road.
If Chief goes on a major downward spiral, it will be Tory’s doing. And his own for not coming clean with Cally. She didn’t have to die. The changes in her would have been very interesting to me.
