(You’re welcome.)

Was Cally dropping the F-bomb at the end, or was that just me?

Weapons Locker 1701D! Nice!
I’m not so sure I want to watch BSG anymore. Torry’s actions have proven that the Tylons are just as evil as the rest of the Cylons.
Doc, no need to use spoiler tags around info from the current show in the current show’s frak party. (But your tend toward discretion is always appreciated. )

It’s pretty disturbing, of course, to see a beloved character die. (Though I can name at least a few GWCers who won’t shed a tear.) On the other hand, I’m not sure what Tory did makes her “evil.” Cally would’ve killed the Chief – and their daughter. And if given the chance, she’d have tried again and again.

It’s certainly a gray area.

It looked to me like Cally was basically in shock when she went in to the launch tube, but that Tory had actually talked her down…right before Tory attacked her. That deception is what makes her evil.

When it comes right down to it, I don’t think Cally would have actually killed her son. As she told Tory she was doing it to protect him from the Cylons. Once she started to come out of her shock, she expressed regret for what she had done involving her son and at that point, I think she wasn’t a threat.

What really cheeses me off is that from a technical standpoint, this episode was AWESOME. The scene with Cally in the maintenance spaces of the ship and then the scene in her quarters with the Chief were just frakking amazing.

But to flat out murder my favorite character…I’m not down with that.

i agree about cally, that she would not have done it…she did not kill chief…when she really could have…she was in shock and did not know what to do…

when tory started to talk her down…i knew it was the end for cally. and i am mad. i really liked cally…i think that tory has always been a bit unethical- the stealing the election scheme, for one- and her putting the moves on chief…so she is going to move towards being evil (at least small e evil) as the season goes on. if parts of her are still human, as she says, then wouldn’t killing someone really change her…for the worse…

and why is it they kill off female characters on the show? ellen and kat last year (and starbuck-sort of). now cally! and roslin on her way out…not fair not fair not fair…

and i loved adama reading that potboiler to roslyn while she was in sick bay… such a perfect counterpoint to his talking to chief at the end…

where is hera?

I have to say that I was so blown away by them actually airlocking Cally that I can’t even think about what Cally might have actually done. I may be hampered by not being able to pay as close attention to the dialogue as I would have liked.

Now taking apps for the Tory-HATERS club

Happy NOW Cally haters?

i love that we are going to see more of how the government works, and some examination of roslyn’s dictatorial tendencies…lee is going to be a great addition to the government…and i loved the dialogue he had with zarek-

a tyrant wants power for its own sake but roslyn wants to save us all…

not sure what to make of that yet. perhaps she is potentially more dangerous in zarek’s eyes.

I think it’s perfectly in Tory’s character- Cally was a liability she couldn’t accept. Cally wouldn’t kill the Chief, but she very well might Tory or Tigh (especially Tory, who she doesn’t know or have any connection to). I don’t think Tory’s actions do anything to change our previous information that the Tylons are the same as they ever were, just with the knowledge that they’re Cylons. What I thought was more telling is that Tory at least seems to have Cylon super strength.

Yes, something was really strange about the way Tori was talking to Cally. At first I figured it was because Rekha Sharma isn’t that good an actress (like Grace Park, not too expressive)…but I quickly found out it was supposed to be that way. I did not expect Cally to die, though somebody mentioned something about this airlock scene somewhere based on a trailer (I think BSG trailers give too much away).

And killing off female characters? Why not? They killed off Billy, Crashdown and Jammer.

but i think tory was trying to put the moves on chief after she saw cally walk into the bar -remember the reflection in the glass…after which tory gets a little friendlier…so i think tory was trying to cause trouble from the start.

the super strength was interesting…

Hmm… I missed a couple minutes towards the beginning (the feed cut out), so I can’t comment on Tory in the bar. I’ll post when I’ve seen it.

but crashdown we never knew…and jammer was mostly in the webisodes…seems like ellen, kat and cally had larger roles…also before kat and cally were killed off, we get a “character” episode about them…almost like an apology for killing them off…
billy…well, you have a point there…

I believe that Tory needed to take out Calli. She was a liability. Thats it. Tory is not above evil i.e. the election. Tory has this efficiency functioning on multiple levels. Besides, I really didnt like Cali anyway. Reminds me of an old girlfriend.

I can respect that you didn’t care for the character, but this proves that the Final Five are no more on the side of the humans than the average Cylon.

I’ve got a quarter that says Tigh ordered it.

The worst kind of dictator is a “benevolent” one because they can justify all sorts of evil as “being for the common good.”

You know, I really want to know that the heck Cally thought when she saw Tigh going into that weapons locker with Tory and Galen. And what does she do about it?

Nothing, really. I guess for her it’s all personal and not more. (Didn’t she have a duty to report this to ummm, somebody?)

Very good point. I didn’t think of that the 1st time through. I remember the reflection but I thought it was a camera trick just for effect, but if it was really what Tori’s eyes were seeing, then it adds a whole new creepy dimension to the Final 5.

The strength was surprising too. But maybe that whole violent scene will be explained away as Tori being programmed for self-defense. But the episode made it clear she was feeling new things so maybe she is becoming something different.
