S4.E02 Pre-Show

Oh wow. A part of me thinks I’m done discussing more or less wild theories. I can’t even remotely keep up with the tons of material everybody’s posting here. And I can’t help but feel that we’re all wrong, that nothing of what we can come up with could even come close to what is actually going on. I guess I’m at a point where I just want to wait and see what happens. Maybe I’ll start a “quietly savoring BSG” thread and everybody will only be allowed to say things like “nice episode” or “can’t wait till next week”

Just one more thing:

“The Gods” were promulgated by a ruling elite and the monotheistic belief is supposed to be the real thing? That strongly reminds me of the late Roman Empire.

Does anyone know if SCIFI is planning on streaming the new episodes every Friday at noon, or was this a one time thing?

After the episode wrapped up on Friday, there was a message telling viewers to tune back in next Friday at noon, so it would appear that they’re at least doing it for next week.

as far as i can tell, sci-fi will be streaming the episodes each friday at noon…

well, they have only been out of the battle for maybe a day…so there is still time for that to happen. we see them jump 2 or 3 times in the episode…exactly what direction are they following now from the nebula? is this still part of baltar’s calculations?

i think she does remember more than she is saying, but that might be the visions in maelstrom, and not necessarily the way to earth…she may feel that telling people about what happened before she “died” would make her seem suspicious, like she is a cylon…or that she is just crazier than they already perceive her to be now…i think she will eventually remember/discuss the visions from maelstrom, but it wont be with roslin/adama, etc…

Thanks! I completely missed that from last time!

I hope in the next episode we get to see some of what happened in “he who believeth in me” from the cylon[z] perspective.

I wonder if she’s ever seen the gunner cam off Apollo’s ship where he saw her exploding. If she did, she’s got to explain what she meant by “Let me go Lee… They’re all waiting for me.”

She might get off her denial enough to be shocked about the time-lapse and why everyone’s treating her weird.

Agree with Galaxy Ranger about carefree thread definitely needed.

I can’t wait to see what Starbuck says to the President.

The more I think about it, the more I’m blown away that they DIDN’T blow Starbuck away as soon as they saw her.

Kara’s hair is an issue - though, I wouldn’t really give it all that much weight until the RDM podcast comes out. They are so careful about craaaaaaaaaaaap like that and whenever there is a discrepancy, and they don’t mean for it to mean anything, he talks about it. Loved her new do by the way, especially after she went all postal on the marines and had crazy hair.

And speaking of hair: I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - Six is the only one who has not only different hairstyles (versus just different lengths of bangs as in the Sharons) but different hair colors. For godssake why??? Black, brown, blond - I have yet to see a redhead, but I’m sure they’re out there…there are many copies…

OK, I’m going to do it, I’m going to watch the original series.

What? I don’t remember that!

After my analysis, all Sharon said was “They’re in the Colonial Fleet with the humans.”

I know I was disappointed to find that that was all she said.

Where else would they be?

Loved that line! The flip side of the irony in the command center.

After hearing littleimp ask for confirmation on what she said, I thought maybe I had missed something cool when I first heard the preview after the original airing on Friday night.

Have we seen a Six with really black hair?

Yes, it’s the one Baltar kills in the episode before the ipod torturing one.

edit: and I just want to say, she really, really looked bad in black hair

I’m really hoping the episode starts with a “12 hours later” and shows the whole standoff from the Cylon perspective. I want to know what went down when that raider scanned Sam and turned tail. I’m wondering if the 7 tried to override that, if they had any power over it, etc.

And it looks like we get to see a Cylon shoot off on one of the basestars. All over Cavil lobotomizing (sp?) the raiders. It’s about time we saw some major breaking of ranks within the Cylon world.

And the question of why are they all on the hangar deck in dress blues? What kind of funeral/welcoming party/ceremony/etc is going down?

As for the path to Earth…I also thought it was weird that they just continued to jump. I really would have thought they would have jumped away from the nebula then sat down and figured out a plan. I’m wondering if they Cylon fleet shows back up on another jump, if they will consider that the correct path (i.e. the cylonz are going there too) or a trap by Starbuck or somehow being traced.

And I’m pretty sure it won’t happen in ep2 but I’m curious as to what’s happening in some of the relationships. Have Lee and D even spoken since she walked out? What was Cheif’s explanation to Cally as to where he went during the blackout? Has Sam blown off Tory now that his wife is back? However I doubt any of these will be answered until at least ep4 where we start getting a few character building episodes.

Oops…I meant 12 hours earlier. I should have my coffee before posting.

I think it should start out saying “Nineteen weeks later” showing them arriving at earth, and then have the episode apruptly end and have the rest of the episode consist of a preview for Season 4.5, saying “coming July 2009!”

/me ducks for the oncoming onslaught of angry BSG fans.

Baltar on the infected ship - the one he killed because she just wouldn’t shut up “humans planted this here, humans like you”, “SHUT UP!”, and she just wouldn’t so he strangled her. Black hair.

OOPS!! Someone already gave info - and, though I would agree it isn’t her best color, she’s still SMOKIN hot!!!
