Rise of the planet of the apes

I know it’s fantastic when I have now gone three times to watch it in a theater!

saw it and liked it. Three out four oddballs of enjoyment.

Problems I had were :
John Lithgow’s death scene. Really, he (John frakking Lithgow) has a death scene and there is a slow fade to the next morning. Come On!
Brian Cox discovers his son dead. Really? he (Brian frakking Cox) his only reaction shot is 1 second of surprise. Double Come On!
The flick was short, I’m sure due to the vast CGI costs which were mind blowing. I think they could have spent a few frames expanding those scenes and others for emotive content.
All in all, I did enjoy and look forward to the obvious sequels since it’s making huge bank.

Finally i got to go see this… I have a nostalgic love for the entire original Apes series. AND, even now the original is a great movie!
I HATED Tim Burton’s ape movie…

So the other day, my wife and i both had the day off. so we went to the movies…(she saw “the Help” and I saw “Rise”)

I was alone (with six other people, total ) in the theater…

This is a Very Good Movie! The best Ape movie yet made!
When Caesar asked if he was a pet… and didn’t quite believe that he was not… I thought was a great moment.
Sorry to offend anyone but i felt that Tom Felton was the weakest actor in this movie.

Loved this flick! Wish Frida Pinto had more to do, but otherwise EXCELLENT.

Loved the little nods to the original film as well (mars mission etc). They were subtle…which made the whole thing even better

Finally got around to seeing it. I agree with what everyone else said about the story (not much else that needs to be said there), but did anyone notice all the Stargate connections? I knew about Hewlett early, and let’s chalk the producer’s last name being “Jaffa” up to coincidence, but the leader of the police officers on the north side of the bridge was Varro, and at least the helicopter pilot looked familiar too.

Oh, and I hated Jacobs. When he said something about the main guy not knowing how the human brain works, I instantly thought “He understands the human brain fine. It’s the corporate frakwit brain he doesn’t quite get.”
