Riese - SciFi/Fantasy/Steampunk (Web Series)

Riese is a Sci-Fi/Fantasy web series scheduled to debut in late October/early November 2009. The series is about a traveler named Riese, a seemingly random wanderer, who flees across the dying lands of Eleysia with her wolf, Fenrir. Hunted by a terrifying religious group, The Sect, Riese must evade the assassins that have been sent to kill her and discover their true objective.

Riese’s past is shrouded in mystery, as even she cannot recall the events of the night when her entire family was slaughtered and she was forced to flee. On her journey, she’ll piece together her past and her destiny, in a struggle that will hold the fate of the world in the balance - and the once peaceful kingdom of Eleysia will be the battlefield. Despite the impending doom, Riese emerges as the sole beacon of hope.

Heard about this show through the geek grapevine, thought I would pass the news along since I didnt see any posts on the forum.
Seems like a cool show with good production values. Plus, its steampunk, which is a significant pro in my book. Check out the trailer on their main page or via their youtube channel.

Looks like the first episode is out. I haven’t caught it yet though.

first episode was pretty good not to much actual story, but i always like a pair of cool goggles.

I have been noticing many ads on this show coming out on TV. I have not seen any webisode of it previously, but apparently they are airing it on SyFy on Oct 26. It looks like an interesting flick with many actors from other Sci-Fi shows. Although, I don’t know much about it other than the accessible trailers out there. Just wondering if it will be worth the time.

I’m looking forward to this one. There isn’t enough Steampunk on TV

The first episode was OK. Seems like it was mostly just setting up the universe.

Oh, and even if I hadn’t heard some stuff about it before, I’d be able to tell it was filmed in Vancouver.

In this episode alone:
Amanda Tapping doing voiceover
Patrick Gilmore (Volker from SGU)
Ryan Robbins (Henry from Sanctuary, also in SGA and Smallville)

Plus, Allison Mack is involved too, and probably more I either didn’t notice or haven’t heard about.

EDIT: Can’t believe I forgot to mention that Gaeta was in it too.
