Richard Hatch's Galactica Books

In Podcast #146, Richard Hatch mentioned his BSG novels. Has anyone here read them? Any good?

I’m assuming that they are closer to the original series in context.

Nice one. Anyone know which one is the first?

Looking at his website (which is pretty out of date) regarding the books, and Amazon, I think this is the complete list, in the right order.

"[Battlestar Galactica: Armageddon](http://www.amazon.com/Armageddon-Battlestar-Galactica-Richard-Hatch/dp/067101191X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1232507601&sr=8-1)" By Richard Hatch and Christopher Golden

Battlestar Galactica: Warhawk” By Richard Hatch and Christopher Golden
Battlestar Galactica: Resurrection” By Richard Hatch and Stan Timmons
Battlestar Galactica: Rebellion” By Richard Hatch and Alan Rodgers
Battlestar Galactica: Paradise” By Richard Hatch and Brad Linaweaver
Battlestar Galactica: Destiny” By Richard Hatch

Thanks, smarx!

Welcome. You might want to read a review of them before making any decisions about buying any of them. It looks like they might be hit and miss. Although, I believe he can write, since I have So Say We All, a book of BSG essays, which was edited by Hatch, that also includes an essay by him that I really enjoyed.

Hi smarx
Who publishes So Say We All? Who is the editor?

It was published as part of the Smart Pop series by BenBella Books. They published books on a variety of topics including the shows of Joss Whedon, superheroes, Veronica Mars, Stargate. I have several of them and have found them all to include some great essays. You can view a preview of So Say We All here. And you can view their entire booklist here.

So Say We All was edited by Richard Hatch, he also wrote an essay in the book as well.

There is also a book by one of the GWC Forum participants, Battlestar Galactica and Philosophy, which you can find here on Amazon. (Fixed the link. I was linking to another BSG and Philosophy book, sorry Philosopher Jedi)

I haven’t picked this one up yet, but I am going to read it on my flight to the GWC meetup in March.

If anyone has read these books by Hatch, please let the rest of us know what you think. I bet the local library would have some of them. i always check there before Amazon.

Thanks for the info smarx.

Hey guys,

In terms of voting, let me know which book you want to have added to the list and I’ll do so for the next round.
