So after being on the road and flying home every other weekend (long story…) I’ve finally got an office job with my company, but I’ve got to relocate to Frederick, MD. I just started, and am staying with a friend who’s new to the area also while I look for a house.
Anyone have any insight to the area?

I don’t know Frederick but I spend a lot of time in Silver Spring and DC (I live on the other side of the river, in the Virginia suburbs). Once you find your feet I think you’ll find this area has a lot to offer. (Including the occassional local GWC meet up!)
The company I work for has a subsidiary in Frederick MD. I have not made it down there myself yet, but I may at some point.
I have friends in Haggerstown and its not too bad and closeish to Frederick.
I’m in D.C. and have been for about 6 years now. I only go to Frederick occasionally, so I don’t have too much specific advice about the town. But I think this calls for a Montgomery County mini-meetup! Sometime… after the wedding… Welcome to the DMV, Boonie!

Thanks! I think I’ll be in Frederick County but the county’s here are fairly small (coming from Minnesota…) so I’d be up for a meet up. What is the DMV?
I think I found a house in Frederick also… and am getting a handle on my new job/position… they made me an EGS - engineering group supervisor - with out any direct reports… good I guess. (was an engineering supervisor once before and got burned because of it which lead to being on the road for 2 years and the new company… Like I said, long story).
A DC meetup would be great. It’s been at least since the BSG finale, no? Avengers might be too soon but, perhaps Dark Knight Rises?
