Red Dwarf

As much as you talk about Rimmer and all, I’d say this would be the arc to traverse.

Fancy Rimmer style salute to you all,

a smeghead from way back

I’d be up for a look at a few of the classic episodes. I have up through series VI, but plan on getting VII and VIII soon. Are episodes available by other means for those not willing to buy the full series?

If people have Netflix, all of the episodes through series V or VI are available for instant watching, and then only about half for the other series.

I’ve been catching up on some of the early podcasts I missed and the number of RD references pleasantly surprises me. There aren’t that many episodes per season, so a podcast per two seasons could work, that would give you four total, which is a doable arc length IMO.

I think GWC should do a Red Dwarf re-watch. They’ve mentioned Red Dwarf a little bit before, but I think if they did a couple of Red Dwarf shows, that it would introduce a lot of new people to this awesome show!

I think GWC should do a Red Dwarf re-watch. They could take up a couple of shows talking about Red Dwarf and they could help introduce it to a whole bunch of new fans and it would just be awesome!!!

OMG, there’s like 50,000 episodes! I have no idea how to pick a few of the episodes for a rewatch.

Welcome to GWC, by the way.

I think it by either each of the trinity picks of his/her favorite episodes OR it’s done just on the first series. I’d totally be into a Red Dwarf arc, too.

I seriouly vote for a Red Dwarf arc…As you may notice my name comes from the show. In fact its more or less the last line of one of my favorite episodes. Also my mom has a cat named Rimmer.

For anyone who never saw it… a link to the second draft of US version pilot of Red Dwarf…

stank on ice, it did…make your own comparisons…

Series VI (I think) showed clips of Red Dwarf USA- not funny.

Another vote for the coolness that is the Little Rouge One- my fav series is series V- Inquistor and Quarantine (the one with Rimmer in the Dress).

There is a chance for 4 more episodes of Red Dwarf- 2 normal eps, one for the anniversary and a making of.

Ed Bye was interviewed on llewtube recently.

I would love to get a Red Dwarf Re-watch Frak Party going. Not that we don’t have a lot of Frak Parties now but this would be a Frakkin’ blast. Anyone interested, what do you think would be a good time to get as many of us together as possible?

I just started watching Red Dwarf all the season are on netflix watch instantly. I’m almost gone with the third season please do an Arc on this show.

Amen!

You wouldn’t want to make Mr. Flibble mad…

I never heard of “red dwarf” that I can recall until hearing it mentioned on the cast, but now I’m intrigued… brief synopsis, little help here… I take it the show is worth exploring?

The US DVD (for those who, unlike Chuck & Audra, haven’t, er, already seen it by other means) of Red Dwarf: Back to Earth is set for October 6, 2009.

A good week for a podcast, no?

For a Red Dwarf Podcast yes…For a Red Dwarf:Back to Earth…no. I am a huge Red Dwarf Fan. Just look at my name. But BtE was not Red Dwarf. It had no feel of Red Dwarf. It was like Red Dwarf fan fic. It had a couple laughs but not worth a pod cast. I would instead like a two or three week General podcast about the series.

I’m always surprised by the BtE hate. I got a big kick out of it. Making fun of everything – including themselves and the entire sci-fi genre/universe – is core 'Dwarf in my book. Sadly, with all the bashing in the fan community and the sounds of crickets chirping in the mainstream, I’d say 'Dwarf might be down for the count. Why take a risk on the movie or invest in more TV if even the core audience is so fickle?

I am down with the making fun of things including themselves but the script just didn’t work for me. I actually liked the second episode but the first and third were kinda hard to watch. It was sad for me i was super stoked for it. If they aired more RD i would totally keep on watching it though. I will also probably rewatch it )in a more legal manner) when it hits US. Maybe a second viewing will do me good.
