so what’s on tap for next week, boys?
IIRC, 'Talos wanted to stick with Hitchcock for a while.
There are really so many layers to the film, open for interpretation and analysis. The relationships, the responses to what is going on internally and externally, etc. It’s a film you think about for a while afterward. Who will Jeff and Lisa become? Miss Torso and Stanley, Miss Lonelyhearts and Maestro, the newlyweds, Lars and the late Mrs. Lars?
frak!! TCM just had a whole Hitchcock day–could’ve stocked up
Vertigo followed by North by Northwest. I have to make the thingys.
Yeah. I said this earlier.
both of which were on TCM Saturday. craaaaaaaaap!
Perhaps I’ll see it differently after I sleep on it. Another viewing may be in order at another time…
Who will Jeff and Lisa become? Miss Torso and Stanley, Miss Lonelyhearts and Maestro, the newlyweds, Lars and the late Mrs. Lars?
Well, I can’t speculate as to everyone else, but Mrs. Lars is going to become fish food.
I specifically didn’t read that. You know how spoiler-phobic I am.
Oy, too much reading for tonight. Saved for perusal tomorrow.
And speaking of which, I’m going to have to say goodnight. I’m wiped.
Nite. May you dream of Raymond Burr and flashbulbs.
Defenestration? SATs got nothing on you. I had to look that up. note to self, don’t play Badger at Scrabble
Found this:
Miss Kelly did her own most noticeable stunt work in ‘‘Rear Window,’’ he recalled, in a role that required her to climb from a fire escape into a second story window. Mr. Stewart was himself called upon to fall from a window ledge, a shot he said Mr. Hitchcock made even more dramatic by raising the camera sharply as the actor fell. This meant that by the end of the film L. B. Jeffries had both legs in casts. ‘‘That wasn’t in the script,’’ Mr. Stewart recalled, noting that the always meticulously-prepared Mr. Hitchcock wasn’t averse to last- minute improvisations. ''On the day we were going to shoot, he came up to me and said, ‘What would you think about breaking another leg?’ ‘’ Mr. Stewart’s casts had hinges on the bottom, so he could stroll the set between shots.
