IIRC, 'Talos wanted to stick with Hitchcock for a while.
There are really so many layers to the film, open for interpretation and analysis. The relationships, the responses to what is going on internally and externally, etc. It’s a film you think about for a while afterward. Who will Jeff and Lisa become? Miss Torso and Stanley, Miss Lonelyhearts and Maestro, the newlyweds, Lars and the late Mrs. Lars?

Vertigo followed by North by Northwest. I have to make the thingys.

Well, I can’t speculate as to everyone else, but Mrs. Lars is going to become fish food.

Jeffries had both legs in casts. ‘‘That wasn’t in the script,’’ Mr. Stewart recalled, noting that the always meticulously-prepared Mr. Hitchcock wasn’t averse to last- minute improvisations. ''On the day we were going to shoot, he came up to me and said, ‘What would you think about breaking another leg?’ ‘’ Mr. Stewart’s casts had hinges on the bottom, so he could stroll the set between shots.
