Love his reaction as he is trying to eat and Stella brings up the cutting up. I love Jimmy Stewart.
Contagious insanity? The closest thing I could think of is mass hysteria, which this is steadily becoming, IMO.
why are we assuming he’s crazy?
His detective friend does. Well, I think he thinks Jeff’s been in the cast for so long and is going stir-crazy.
Interesting. I vaguely recall hearing about it in college. It’s pretty rare, of course, and probably wouldn’t apply here, since he’s the only one who’s isolated. Everyone else is (presumably) having normal interactions with other, more sane people.
I love the use of music in this as well. It adds another layer to the story-telling.
Oh for sure. But she loves him so much, I’m sure he could persuade her to his madness. If there was any.
“Where does a man get inspiration to write a song like that?”
“He gets it from the landlady once a month.”
Hehe.
It’s human nature to see patterns, even where none exist. He’s extending that into an entire worldview, based only on limited contact with others.
Having not seen this before (and don’t tell me whether I’m right or wrong), I’m thinking that he’s completely misinterpreting what he’s seeing. Personally, this being a Hitchcock film, I’m assuming that a crime has been committed, but not the one he thinks…
Love the newlywed bit.
HARRY!
Keeping my spoiler up.
You know, I’m going off topic here but all these actors have amazing eyes. Such vivid color.
Tom constantly looking at Lisa’s night wear. Great stuff.
“I love funny exiting lines.”
HA!
Jeff still keeps looking at Miss Torso. Pig.
Oh no. Poor Miss Lonelyhearts. Pigs.
We all feel uncomfortable.
Canicide!
Did you see that coming, Badger?
First time I saw this I thot the dog fell from the basket. Everytime they showed the lowering of the dog, I cringe.
“Did you kill 'im cuz he liked ya?”
No. He was even nice to the dog earlier, so whoever did it, I don’t think it was him.
