anyone else see “Reaper” on the CW on tuesday?
very funny, kinda in the same genre as “chuck”.

Haven’t gotten a chance to watch it, but I heard it was good…and to top it off Aaron Douglas is going to be in an episode either 3 or 4) which is titled “What about Blob”.
His character has the potential to be reccuring and possibly more - so another show with a BSG connection.
I saw it and thought it was hilarious. “Sock” had some of the best lines, but I loved how Ray Wise (who will always be big “E” Evil Leland Palmer to me) not so subtly reminded Sam that those who disobeyed him met with tragic ends (that zamboni scene was quite graphic for broadcast TV).
I saw the pilot about 2 months ago while flying BT airlines… and have it on my Tivo. I’m planning on regularly watching it. Currently seems like a fun episodic, and it might be able to pick up the Buffy crowd if they play their cards right.
Kevin Smith directed the pilot… what more really needs to be said.
yes, exactly.
Is anyone watching Reaper now that new episodes are on? I didn’t watch it from the start but it’s really grown on me. Very funny and clever. Sure hope they keep it around.
i’ve watched this from the start, as kevin smith talked about it on his “Smodcast” (he directed the pilot episode), and it’s probably one of my favorite show’s that i don’t need to take to seriously too enjoy (i.e. Lost or BSG). very funny with interesting mythology of its own.
Dee (the actress who plays her) was on Reaper last night- very cool, but it sure is upsetting to think she has enough time to film a spot on another show when BSG is back to filming.
I’m the same way. I just discovered it. I think this show is great. Funny characters in serious situations and a wicked-ass Lucifer!
hey, there’s a new show coming to Singapore called “Reaper”. Any of you guys heard of it? I remember that pudgy guy in it was in an almost-identical show that didn’t take off, called Dead Last about 7-8 years ago. It was cool while it lasted, then it died.
There’s a similar cartoon featuring the same 3 character archtypes from Dead Last (including that same pudgy guy!). But the cartoon featured a giant mech with a car for its head (?)
Love, love love Reaper. It’s smart, very funny, surprising and well made. The 3 lead actors are wonderful, but Ray Wise should play the Devil anytime the Devil is needed on film (like Morgan Freeman playing God). Even though being a Reaper is actually helping humanity, Sam lets his guard down sometimes and forgets that his boss is Beelzebub. Ray Wise has the most dastardly ways of reminding Sam that his time card is being punched IN HELL. Reaper is definately worth watching.
I found it quite enjoyable. Although as I watched the whole season in a very short period of time, I found it a little repetitive. It’s probably just me. I’ll certainly be watching the second season
We LOVE Reaper. Very clever. Ray Wise is incredible as the devil, I catch myself wanting to like him so often and then I have to remember who he is. Well worth your time. I also like that the show plays against the “thinking man’s” angle by having the main characters be regular joes in their early twenties. Their youth helps and hinders.
hey all,
I’m watching the episode where Missy Peregrym finds out what Sam actually does. There’s this beat where one of his friends chats with a nurse… who turns out to be a rather sweet looking Dualla with short hair and blusher.
I’ll always remember Missy from that movie about gymnastics (that movie rocked!) …she looks hot as hell sic in this episode.
I am pretty sure i saw our boy Felix in the most recent episode of Reaper. He was playing the priest
I agree. Before Reaper started, Ray Wise occasionally played a celebrity lawyer on The Closer.
Yes, yes you did. We love the show. I was so happy when it came back for a second season.
I saw in TV Guide that Reaper was on their list of cancelled shows. Anyone know the real buzz on this? I sure hope it’s not true.
For Ray Wise fans, be sure to check out Twin Peaks.
