RDM podcast for the finale is up

…and my first thoughts after listening for the first 25 mins is, “Thank the Lords of Kobol for the writers strike…”

my thought is… “kitty… so cute”… they have lovaely animals at that house. most cats can’t run far enough away from the owners.

Ron, I love my wife, I’m sure you love yours, but I wouldn’t let her interject a noob’s perspective on my series finale podcast.

I like hearing RDM’s wife’s thoughts on it.

Anyhoo, am in the midst of listening to it, and I found it interesting that the initial setup was to have a Tigh vs. Ellen situation. Now I can understand why they ever had that whole Tigh/Caprica Six baby thing, because from the finale we saw, that whole storyline basically went nowhere, and was pretty unnecessary for the finale that came to be. And, I’m glad RDM didn’t go that way.

I also love that RDM pointed out the whole Gaius - Caprica Six thing, and what made Gaius decide to help Caprica Six (thus causing the destruction in the first place): love. It was my favourite scene of the finale, as I mentioned in the poll thread. Sorry, I just want to mention it again, because I really, really loved that part.

Could you stop her?

First he makes a big deal about the previous one being the PENULTIMATE cast, and now he mentions the Wooden Ship in the final podcast. This show really did end perfectly…

Really? I was rather fond of her perspective, ie. apparently how she was begging him to actually bring closure and explanation to what Kara was :stuck_out_tongue:

Ugh, is it just me or did he leave the episode volume up WAY too high for the 2nd episode?

Seriously, right? Although I can’t help but wonder if the people who have been disappointed with season 4.5 would’ve preferred the pre-strike outline to play out.

Ugh, is it just me or did he leave the episode volume up WAY too high for the 2nd episode?

It’s not just you. I found myself talking to my iPod saying, “turn down the volume, Ron.”

Yeah, Pt. 2 was way too loud.

I actually liked the presence of Mrs. Ron the second time around; she pressed him for explanations that made perfect sense and I was glad to hear his thoughts regarding them.

Im so happy we didnt have Cylonia and Ellen being all “Grr” and Roslin and Adama riding off into the stars.

exactly my thoughts–it sounded like a tight as hell plot

Yes, except the character motivations were so forced that I was cringing through the whole description. The end we got might have been sloppier, but I liked both the epic quality and the characterizations we got.

At least the clinking ice cubes were minimal this week, AND the between-act beeps weren’t at a tornado-warning-siren level. I always feel bad for folks listening on iPods. “And that’s end of act BEEEEEEP!”

If you haven’t listened to the podcast, as several people have been discussing, about 20-25 minutes into it, RDM goes into a long episode-by-episode description of the original alternate plan for the season. It’s significantly different. I don’t think better, but it’s neat to hear.

wondering how that’s gonna play out in the DVD release…will we even be able to hear RDM? Ah well…

Listen to the ‘Enhanced’ (H264) version. It sometimes takes a while longer to post, but it uses chapter markers instead of that insane beep.

Oy! Wish I’d known that a long time ago. I listen to podcasts while riding the bus (I have about an hour commute to the campus where I teach), and that BEEEEEP gets me every…frakking…TIME!

There have been complaints about that from day one. IIRC, he’s even mentioned it in the 'cast at one point. i’m not sure why they can’t seem to fix it.

I’ve never had a problem with the beep, myself, and I always listen via earbuds.
