Razor Flashback #1 Frak Party

Don’t miss tonight’s Razor Flashback, described by SciFI as “the best two minutes on television” and described by GWC’s own Number 13 as “the first new BSG material since SPRING!”

Various threads here indicate that the Flashback will appear on SciFi’s site immediately after broadcast, but considering the BSG’s generally-negative view toward Flash – and how we sometimes had a hell of a time streaming the Minisodes previously on release day – I think I’m going to actually TiVo Flash to make sure we get it.

Regardless, I thought I’d start an official frak party thread so we can all get down on it. As you can imagine, it’ll be a subject for Podcast #66 for sure.

OK, its been an hour since it aired, The young Bill Adama is sleeping with another pilot, then they are talking about his upcoming first combat mission. Why do I get the feeling that the other pilot isn’t going to live through this miniseries?

Could it have been a young Admiral Cain? Either way that female pilot was very good looking.

Very little story was revealed here. The only key point we see so far is that Adama has yet to fly his first combat mission. I am doubtful about the relevance of the love interest.

I am intrigued as to where things go next week…

scifi LIED they said the video would be up on scifi.com “immediatly” after airing on scifi channel. it is nowhere on the site.

Curse their sudden but inevitable betrayal! I decided to DVR some horror movies on Turner Classic rather than the craapy Flash Gordon and this is how they treat me.

And Chuck, does that make me a GWC contributor?

So…in the first flashback we establish that young Bill Adama had sex…and still had a raspy voice.

Well there goes my theory that it was a lack of sex that led to the raspy voice.

I always assumed it was due to many years of a lack of fiber and the problems one will endure as a result.

And, as of now, still nothing.

Goddamn. If you’re trying to piss off your fans, this is a fraking case study!

Wow. We missed it the first time 'round and were pissed off with the rest of you when we couldn’t find it online. Then Audra got lucky and found it in the rebroadcast of Flash a couple of hours afterward – so we saw it.

Please I hope not!

It’s 3:30 am and the SciFi website is working well, the Razor mini cast is up and running well. Yup, the pilot’s quarters look the same on Galactica, even 40 years ago. And if you know military life, that’s par for the course. Not big on a remodel unless the General’s kid is going to be bunking in there !! Well, it’s new footage, and that’s a good thing !

Well, it’s not available online for users outside the U.S (or in Germany at any rate). But they didn’t mind showing me a commercial first before jerking it away. Frakkers.

If anyone finds it posted to YouTube or what have you, please send me a link.

so now we know that adam got that ‘what do you hear’ catchphrase from his commander.

There is actually a very important reason why such things are not viewable outside the United States. This is where the Writers Guild of America comes into play. As part of concessions won after a threatened strike of writers there are tons of restrictions in place on matters like this due to it being considered advertising material. Although these scenes are considered “deleted” from Razor I fear they are still being handled under that protocol.

There’s the tradeoff. NBC Universal can comply with Writers Guild demands and such materials can be available for some. If NBC Universal decided to make such available worldwide against the demands of the Writers Guild then there would be nothing for anybody. With some hope such may either be available for release on the eventual Razor DVD or something may happen down the line.

I wish, though, that this was only being done in the US. The BBC is doing this with its own properties as well. With the BBC using a weird Microsoft implementation of a DRM package basically I cannot use such even though I might eventually visit the British Isles due to owning a Macintosh. Amazon’s Unbox service is using a similar technologies which means it is not accessible to me using a Macintosh either.

I did record last night and hopefully by tonight will have everything but the Razor clip stripped in the editor.

Scene: Inside a bunk on a battlestar. A guy and girl, half-disrobed, are making out. Shot of the girl’s dogtags: Last name is Thrace.

Starbuck’s Mom: I can’t believe we drank all that space champagne. [Giggling] Is your spine glowing red?

Unnamed guy: Baby, that’s just the booze talking.

Oh, if I had a nickel for every time I’ve heard that line…

That was my other thought as to who that unknown person with Young Adama was…

Well, as I posted in the old minicast thread, I can’t seem to download the video on Sci-Fi.com, but I’m using the crappy computer at work. Maybe when I get home tonight, I can make it happen. I should’ve known better than to trust Skiffy.
Anyone else having trouble?

I’m just going to say that her callsign is probably “DeadMeat”.
