There is actually a very important reason why such things are not viewable outside the United States. This is where the Writers Guild of America comes into play. As part of concessions won after a threatened strike of writers there are tons of restrictions in place on matters like this due to it being considered advertising material. Although these scenes are considered “deleted” from Razor I fear they are still being handled under that protocol.
There’s the tradeoff. NBC Universal can comply with Writers Guild demands and such materials can be available for some. If NBC Universal decided to make such available worldwide against the demands of the Writers Guild then there would be nothing for anybody. With some hope such may either be available for release on the eventual Razor DVD or something may happen down the line.
I wish, though, that this was only being done in the US. The BBC is doing this with its own properties as well. With the BBC using a weird Microsoft implementation of a DRM package basically I cannot use such even though I might eventually visit the British Isles due to owning a Macintosh. Amazon’s Unbox service is using a similar technologies which means it is not accessible to me using a Macintosh either.
I did record last night and hopefully by tonight will have everything but the Razor clip stripped in the editor.
