Tom Rothman mentioned that a Rise of the Planet of the Apes sequel would begin production by Summer’s end during the studio’s presentation at CinemaCon. And in Rothman’s chat with Collider, he said that a summer 2014 release is being targeted.

Disney has attached Selick to direct The Graveyard Book, which sounds wonderful. I thought very highly of his work on Coraline, which aside from the one character invented for the film, was a really solid effort. Incidentally, Deadline also says that The Graveyard Book will come after the film Selick has been working on for the past year. I loved Neil Gaiman’s The Graveyard Book and look forward to seeing it made into a film…

Monsters Inc 2: Monster University teaser trailer is out. Due in theaters next year.
It looks a lot less futuristic than the Stallone version, any comic fans care to comment on which one is closer to the way it’s supposed to be?
The first Dredd comics are set in 2099, and the tech is pretty impressive in the nicer areas of Megacity One. But like in all cities there are the more neglected and run down areas, and the people with lower incomes do not have the nicer things in life. So I can see where a cartel lord might hold up in the more rundown part of Megacity One, where it would be easier to win over the locals in order to create a militia and living warning system and where an approach by law enforcement would stand out more, and be lacking any real back-up they could count on.
Amazon has The Avenger’s Blu-ray release date as September 25.

Well it made its way to Phoenix, and I was there. Here are some of the pics I took, it was hard to get close with all the TV film crews there but I did my best. And some of the local fans turned out as you can see by the fine costumes they wore, and despite the frakking heat too (God bless them for it) it added to the fun.

Being obnoxious on the Internet may soon cease to be a fundamental right in Arizona, where lawmakers approved a measure that effectively makes trolling illegal.
As Gizmodo reports, Arizona House Bill 2549 passed both legislative houses last week and awaits approval by Governor Jan Brewer. It states:
It is unlawful for any person, with intent to terrify, intimidate, threaten, harass, annoy or offend, to use ANY ELECTRONIC OR DIGITAL DEVICE and use any obscene, lewd or profane language or suggest any lewd or lascivious act, or threaten to inflict physical harm to the person or property of any person.
