I’m thinking Soderbergh was entirely successful in making a dramatic action film that escapes Angelina Jolie’s monopoly on the genre. Here I am desensitized by decades of ever more expensive action entertainment yet I’m flinching at the surprising violence of these scenes that are less flashy but somehow more effective.

After Haywire’s trailers and clips, I can see why there’s excitement over the idea. Definitely a must see movie if for the very least, to see this novice actress upstage her all veteran male actor supporting cast. (They all play bad guys who betray her, even goody two shoes Ewan McGregor. Epic idea.)
