Random news

Ok, how many parents are going to protest/complain about this movie when it’s released?

“Children are going to dress up and jump off tall buildings!”
“Teenagers are going to die interrupting 7-11 robberies!”

And I didn’t even post the clip of Nic Cage teaching his 11 year old daughter to take a shot to the chest. TWICE! It is sheer awesomeness.

World would be a better place if teenagers attempted to stop liquor store robberies, definitely better than robbing them.

Interesting Iron Man 2 tidbits here-

The newspaper photo titled ‘walking on air’ makes me wonder if Kitty Pride is involved. It looks like a young girl in a school uniform, and I remember her doing that trick in the past. X Men crossover?

This is funny, informative and rather disturbing…

Maybe it had something to do with the Japanese to English translation, or not.:o

I kid you not, there’s a Sailor Moon character with the special power, “Gentle Uterus.”

Sometimes, I think the Japanese are trying to get around their censors like Firefly characters did when they spoke Chinese. That’s just my feeling.

:eek:WUT?

Your reaction is normal and common. Here you go.
The Sailor Starlights (as oppose to the original Sailor Senshi [soldiers]) are all males, but transform into females.
Did I just see a Uterus get a guy all wet?

And men change into women? Gee that shouldn’t be confusing for children at all…

What did she just throw?

Well Japanese children are smarter after all. d: They can keep track of stuff like that.

Many have commented on how complicated Devastator is to transform. But, kids have been setting records (not sure about Guiness) in competitions and such.

Do we really want to know??

Edit: I laughed for like 5 minutes after seeing that clip. I haven’t seen the show in about a decade, so I’ve forgotten aspects of it. The delayed reaction and expression of the goon is hilarious.

Here’s the youtube link I really wanted to reference kids, complexity and transformers. Bay admits it himself.

Um…the hell?

Cool! And it did my heart good to see kids struggling with Sideswipe’s transformation too. That darn corvette was a bitch to transform, and Chromia too for that matter…

I find myself more drawn to the figurines now, they look more like the characters on the screen. And I don’t have to mess with them!

Yeah, the responses led me to update my signature. ^^

requote: Whatever it was, it was warm and steamy. I still don’t wanna know exactly.

tries to stop laughing after watching again

It is the same stuff that makes the theaters showing ‘Twilight’ movies humid inside…

Oh god I should not have watched that before bed. What the frak?!

I see your WTF signature, Fastcart, and raise you Ultimate Muscle Roller Legend:

You win!! Great day! Ow.

I could draw out the competition by posting clips of Dragon Half and Elf Princess Rane, but we can only torture the GWC community so much.

And, I recognized the music after 15 seconds. I have the normal version Favorited on Youtube.

wrestles with the decision for 15 minutes

Ah screw it!! I’ll see your raise with both endings of Excel Saga!

P.S. Omra, I’m incredibly sorry for what’s happened to your thread. First, a religious debate, now this.

Gods and Saints preserve me, what has happened here?

Well now I know the title of that bizarre video I saw on ‘Noob’ a couple of months ago…

As for Excel Saga, I bought a previously viewed copy a couple of years ago. I watched about 15 minutes of it and had to put it away, it was just too juvenile for me.:stuck_out_tongue:

Now then, lets see if I can dig up some more news! And rescue this thread.

Here’s some:

Word from Fandango is that Avatar is currently outselling Star Trek in advance ticket sales at the same point in that film’s sales cycle. Trek grossed $79.2 million in the first three days of release, including midnight screenings.

The online ticket website also claims that Avatar currently represents 87% of weekly ticket sales, and the the film, which opens tonight at midnight, has already sold out “hundreds of showtimes” across the country, “from Buford, Georgia to Roseville, California.”

According to a survey of Avatar ticket-buyers on Fandango (as of 8:00 a.m. PT this morning):

72% indicate that the film’s positive reviews have increased their interest in seeing the movie.
70% claim they do not care about the film’s budget.
37% of men (surveyed by Fandango) plan to bring a date with them to see Avatar.

Well, so much for my theory that Avatar would turn out to be a colossal failure. Although people have to buy a crapload of tickets for this thing to break even.

Still, in spite of the thundersmurfs, this thing looks pretty fracking cool.
