Now first off, rather then double post this (as it would fit in both the Star Trek and Star Wars forums) I figure I’ll post it on neutral ground. Also sorry if the answer was posted already. I did a forum search and only mention of this was in the PODCAST #166 thread but no answer was given. Or you may just be slow on the draw sometimes (like myself and are just now hearing of this).

R2-D2 LOCATION ANSWER
During the Drill Machine sequence as the Enterprise comes out of its barrel role amidst destruction of the other Federation ships above Vulcan, we cut to an interior Enterprise bridge over the shoulder of Kirk that is looking out through the front view screen. In space, R2-D2 is floating in the debris from about the top middle of the screen to the bottom right
