Quantum Leap

Hey all,

I’m new. Since the crew has been talking a lot about 80s and 90s sci-fi shows I was wondering if you have seen Quantum Leap. I absolutely loved this show.

So what do you think?

Shodan,

First off…welcome to the forum!

Quantum Leap is a favorite of many here and has been discussed on occasion on the show. You are in good company here.

I love Quantum Leap. There’s a DVD set of all five seasons for sale here at the moment. It’s priced at £70. A little pricey but I’ll probably pick it up soon. I was really looking forward to seeing Dean Stockwell in BSG when I heard he was to guest star. He certainly has not disapointed me.

loved it

and dean stockwell who plays brother cavil on BG was a regular on that show.

and i am sure that the producers who cast him remember him in that show as do many otherBG,science fiction fans

I used to love that show when I was a kid. I freaked out when I saw “Al” show up on BSG.

I didn’t watch it when it was first on, but I loved the hell out of this show when I was working third shift, and this was the only consistent highlight of my night. (The absolute highlight was the British “Cracker.” Shun the American remake.)

Uh-oh. I don’t think Al can help him out of this.

Really. Bakula’s acting isn’t that bad.

Hey Magnus, Did they keep all the original music in the show for that region DVD. They really frakked it up in the Region 1 release. The studio was so cheap that they didn’t pay the fee to use a lot of the original music for it. Example: We all remember the scene where Al hang around to ask his first wife Beth not to remarry and to wait for him to get saved from the POW camp. Of course she can’t see or hear Al but she plays there song “Georgia” by Ray Charles and Dance together. One of the single most touching scenes in all of TV history and certainly this amazing series and it was change to a random song that sounds completely out of place and lacks any lyrics.

Frak you frakkin executives that frak the frak out of frakkin everything.
SorryBarb :o

Oh, welcome to the forum Shodan. FYI - I don’t go around frakkin everything all of the time. I just needed to blow off some steam - IYKWIM

Oh, and may I welcome you to the gutter also.

Bakula’s stiff acting in Enterprise was due to some stupid Star Trek guideline that restrained him to only doing those couple of emotions.

Bakula had range in Quantum Leap, it was why the show was so much fun. I loved the space chimp episode.
