Or it’s possible that someone over 50 didn’t vote in the poll. Not that that person is necessarily the Hartnell fan.
I’ve got to say peter davison
For me David Tennat, I had friends into the Christopher Eccelston Doctor, and found him…a little lacklust. Now David Tennant just makes me feel like a little kid again. Gives me excitement that I remembered from watching DS9, and Next Gen and later Firefly(although I saw that after Doctor Who.) the very first time. It makes me sad to see him leave. Because there we’re some massive excitment moments in season four that gave me chills. (The end of forest of the dead.)
Halfway through Season two… and as much as I enjoyed Christopher Eccleston, well, I just adore David Tennant. So I guess he’s my Doctor.
I grew up watching the Peter Davison Who, which I still adore in reruns.
But I absolutely love David Tennant in the role.
And I now only have a few eps left in series four… and David Tennant DEFINITELY is my Doctor. He’s just adorable, I want to give him a hug!
My wife absolutely drools over Tennant. Other than the current series, I’ve only seen Tom Baker and Peter Davison (via PBS re-airs when I was younger), but I’d have to lean towards Tennant.
I am, however, currently attempting to watch more of the classic series. Helps me to get on my father-in-law’s good side. He’s a Tom Baker man, himself.
Right now, my PBS station in Iowa is airing the adventures of the Sylvestor McCoy Doctor.
I’m amazed at how many of the episodes I can actually remember since I had thought I’d gotten away from the show by the time these episodes started to air.
Good stuff though, even if the Tennant episodes have surpassed them in terms of both writing and special effects/production value.
Do you get WTTW-Chicago as your PBS station, or is it another? If you get WTTW out there, then I’ll have to start DVRing the episodes.
It’s Iowa Public Television.
I’ve donated considerable funds over the years to assure that they continue to play old episodes of the show.
Yeah, I just searched my dish’s program guide for doctor who episodes and all I see are re-airs of David Tennant episodes on Skiffy, BBC America, and my local PBS affiliate.
I do miss the old episodes when they were on PBS back in the early 90s.
I’d kill for them to come out with massive box sets of each doctor or every season. I know alot of the episodes are gone, but grab the audio if you have it, stick it to some pretty photos and I’d buy them all
I have to admit I am a bit shocked at the mass amount of people who voted Tennant. I think it shows where alot of us have seen. I still stick with Eccleston. When I see the doctor, I see him. I loved how he could go from happy, to mad, to funny in about five seconds. He was fun, energetic, but dark. Not to mention his outfit, sexy accent, and awesome smile.
It was perfectly acted. Their were so many layers to the ninth doctor that I feel never got to really play out. I would have killed for him to stay just a bit longer. Every time I wacth Parting of the Ways, I cry. I even say the words with him as he says “You were Fantastic, and you know what? So was I!”
I liked him because he stood out from every other Doctor. When I see the Doctor, I see him.
