Prometheus

[duh-leted; duh-doy!]

  1. Sorry to hear that about the commentary.

  2. I saw it twice in theaters (one 2D, then one 3D) – how does it hold up after multiviews and after you’ve had ample time to digest it.

  3. How are the extras?

  4. Welcome aboard!

2)Multiviews - I’m one who can watch a movie many, many times over a period of years and never get tired of the movie so I might not be the best to answer this! But in multiple viewings I’ve, of course, noticed more plot details each time. I’ll go into some of that below under a spoiler warning…

3)Extras - Not so great. Most of it I’d already seen online. I did notice there’s a second commentary track so I’ll have to listen to that some day and hope it’s better than Ridley Scott’s!

  1. Thanks! I’ve been around for a few years. I just don’t post very much.

SPOILER WARNING

After a couple viewings, I realized that the black goo oozing out of the urns isn’t the same substance as the black goo David infected Halloway with. There’s an outer goo surrounding the green glass phials which hold the inner goo. Each one caused different changes in those infected and also can explain why there were two different face-huggers. I’m thinking maybe the weapon originally was meant to work like an epoxy - the true affect maybe isn’t seen unless the two substances combine.

Turned it off?!? Ridley’s boastful ranting is more entertaining than the movie itself. He’s 74 and, not including this one, made two of the best science fiction movies ever made. Prometheus is a short listed favorite for cinematography, production design and visual effect Oscars. Bragging rights well earned.
