Praise for Takei

Ole George doesn’t get a lot of love from me because I remember the half assed job of acting that he does in ST 6 and 4. I don’t like the “overly hardcore” sulu of 6 and Heroes. And Sulu in 3 and 4 is just kinda meh. I just feel that he over acted too much ( and I am a fan of Shatners’ acting) and when he wasn’t doing that he was under acting.
.
When I think of TOS I always think about Naked time… which isn’t really that impressive either.

I am not saying he sucks… just that there is a reason he never was a star of anything.

Until I watched the New version of Day of the Dove tonite. He really isn’t a bad actor at all. The scene where he talks about Chevov’s not haveing a family was dead on and real and the least over acted anthing I have ever seen in trek. It was very believable and real.

So my cold heart has been melted. I need to go back and rewatch TOS. I watched it so much as a kid, I haven’t watched the series in 14 years. ( no need I have had it nearly memorized!) I guess I was wrong…

anyway… the point is “You go girlfriend!”

The new version?

I finally saw Star Trek New Voyages “World an Time Enough” last week.
“Today Takei” did a fantastic job in that. I’ll do a blog post on it when I have time.

Ithink he means the star trek 2.0. with the new effectts

remastered…excerpt from wikipedia entry.

This episode was remastered in 2006 and aired January 5, 2008 as part of the remastered Original Series. It was preceded three weeks earlier by the remastered version of “A Taste of Armageddon” and followed a week later by the remastered version of “Who Mourns for Adonais?”. Aside from remastered video and audio, and the all-CGI animation of the USS Enterprise that is standard among the revisions, specific changes to this episode also include:

The planet Beta XII-A has been given a more realistic earth-like appearance.
New scenes and more dramatic shots of the Klingon battle cruiser have been added, including replaced footage of the ship as it explodes above the planet.

Oh my!

yeah, I meant the remastered version that airs weekly on syndication here. I don’t have a HD player so I didn’t buy them on dvd when they came out. So I watch them on TV just like everyone else.
