Post finale Miniseires rewatch ideas

If Kara resurrected, what about Baltar?

Ok, so Kara really died. Whether at the Maelstrom or on Erf, she died. But then she came back because some higher power has a design for her.

What about Baltar? If Six was killed by the shock waves of the initial nuclear attack on the colonies, how is it that Baltar survived without much of a scratch by “getting down” behind a person?

If Baltar indeed died with Six on the planet, was he an resurrected being from the moment he replaced Helo on Caprica? If people can just be reborn willy-nilly in this universe, isn’t it possible Baltar is one of them?

Second, was there “Watch Tower” references already in the Miniseries?

Baltar said similar line to “there must be some kind of way out of here”.

I think Dee said “There is too much confusion”.

If Watch Tower has been there since the miniseires, I am truly amazed how the whole thing weaves together.

2 things

First Baltar: I am beginning to suspect both he & C6 died in that explosion. Both resurrected & that is why both were able to see Head 6 & Head Baltar. The means of resurrection just differred. Something happened during the process that allowed the head character’s appearance.

Second: From the various accounts of the press conference after the press airing last week of DB2, David Eick said something about them wanting to incorporate music from very early on, but hadn’t decided on the song. He threw out a couple titles including I think Yesterday, which Ron interrupted saying they couldn’t afford & Eick agreed with him. So, the concept of music appears to have been there very early, but what form it would take had not been decided.

yeah, that would make a lot more sense.

What if the human race in the show were actually cylons from previous cycles? There is somewhere something, aka IT, out there with the ability and choice of whom IT desires to resurrect after a human member died. IT can also reactivate the legacy “projection-ware” still embedded in the human race.

This then is a method to explain IT without Deus Ex Machina.

That’s been one of my personal obsessions thru the series, since… I think between seasons 3 and 4. I wish they’d have explored it, and even though they didn’t, it’s certainly still possible.

Yeah, Starbuck disappeared. But she’d done her duty. Baltar still had to farm.

What’s the deal with those Lord dudes?

Baltar being resurrected its an interesting idea. We might learn more about that in “The Plan”.

More food for thought, both Baltar and Kara were killed in an explosion, both came back not knowing they had been killed, and both saw imaginary “head” people at some point after they resurrected, and both had an important part to play in fate of the human race.

First I’ve heard of any “Lords”; are they related to the best band from Aerilon, The Lords of Kobol?

Dunno. That’s why I’m axin’.

Apparently, they’re all up in the piece.

I’m transferring what little I know about the mysterious Original Series entities onto the Lords of Kobol.

That’s not a real answer, though.

i think for those who are having issues with the Deus Ex Machina, the fact that more than one person resurrected, and that there’s possibly an (ex-cycles) Cylon explanation might be the best way out of being trapped in the God box.

The most I think, the more I think this is the better answer. And if anymore shows are going to be in the BSG world (including Caprica), this is one of the better route to go down and reveal what forces made it possible for Starbuck and Baltar to resurrect.

The Lords of Kobol were actually the executives of General Motors - they traveled back in time and created an entire civilization so that they could end up on Earth to buy their cars many thousands of years in the future…

(Just so you know, I plan on answering this question a different way every time I see it)

I look forward to your many answers!

…but didn’t Starbuck have her Head (not) Leoben visions before exploding to the other side?

She was having visions, but they – including Non-Creepy Leonen – were more dreamlike. It wasn’t until after that she saw the more conventional style head person.

Outstanding! And you will see it again.

(About those GM guys - if the feds don’t loan the company all that money and it goes out of business - does THAT break the cycle? If so, does GWC need to step up and so inform The Obama Administration?)

This has been my thought for a long time.
Starbuck & Baltar both died and were both resurrected.
Each had a role to play, “a destiny”, which appears each fulfilled.
Baltar’s path eventually led him to self-forgiveness and love.
And Starbuck, finally would be able to rest and lay down her burden (her life).

I’ve been going with this explanation too. “IT” doesn’t have to be god in the usual sense of the word. I like to think of “IT” as something from a previous cycle that escaped “out” of the cycle and now manipulates things remotely. I see Baltar and Starbuck as very similar too - both killed and resurrected in a context outside that associated with the ‘regular’ Cylons (S7 and F5) that isn’t explained.
