Poll: Which theme that the the show covered did you like the most?

I just want to make clear that the distinction between religion and mysticism is that the former is just the human made concept and the latter the actual supernatural in the show.

I could have done completely without the easy, lazy, plot device supernatural element. There were enough interesting and meaningful issues.

Multiple choices possible.

oops, forgot the Baltar option. apologies

I chose the class war. There were entire lives lived that made the parts of the show we saw possible, and we rarely saw them. I really liked seeing the show go to other ships and other people, to delve more into the reality of life for people that weren’t part of a greater destiny.

We need a ‘all of the above’ option. What I liked the most is how they all weaved together to create a tapestry.

Do you want it added?

I think the survival element was covered the best. You could really believe these were the last of the human race. They didn’t just conveniently forget there was no-one else, it was always something hanging over the characters.

question folks, how do you include a poll in a thread?

When you create a thread, there is an option at the bottom to create a poll with the thread. Then follow the instruction after you check the box.

Survival is the all of the above. To survive you need everything on the list.

GalaxyRanger seemed to like most of the choices.

Voted mysticism, but I’d have to say a better description for what I liked would be mythology. My favorite episodes were the Home Pts I & II when you realize there might be something larger than just a struggle between the Colonials and Cylons at work. Thinking of what I liked about Home makes me realize I should have also picked Responsibility as well. I always liked Apollo’s, Starbuck’s and Adama’s struggles with doing the right thing…

I refuse to vote on prinicipal. There is no sex catagory. It is a valid catagory, and you know it.

Thanks for keeping it real Boxy.

hehe, no, you can’t prefer everything. if that’s your stance than you can on principle refrain from voting.

or vote for all of them.

I would say sex would be under personal?

I think I liked identity the best, though I think that inextricably ties in with responsibility and personal. With the mystery of who is a Cylon, and then the bigger mystery of what that actually means, I think you end up with the idea that people aren’t defined by origins so much as they are by the other two themes, how you deal witht the consequences of your actions and how you treat those around you. And yet, it’s not quite that facile, because the Cylons really do have a separate culture and unique way of looking at the world because of resurrection, projection, and their ideas about unity.
