Did you guys see that Patrick McGoohan died? I’m bummed.
“The Prisoner” has to be one of the greatest sci-fi shows of all time. I even liked The Three Lives of Thomasina!

This is a huge loss.
Patrick McGoohan was an impassioned television maverick who co-created and stared in what I consider a work of genius with his British 60’s show The Prisoner. Television had simply never seen a show so thoughtful and layered, especially in what on the surface was an action series.
The Prisoner has said to have been inspirational to the creators of BSG, LOST and B5, among others. (BSG’s naming of #6 is said to be an intentional tribute)
If you have never seen it, all 17 episodes of The Prisoner are now online here at amctv.com.
You can find a 3 page obituary, many tributes and much more about Mr McGoohan and his work at The Prisoner Appreciation Society.
And you can find a lot of info on the production of the new reimagined Prisoner miniseries that’s to be released sometime in '09, staring Ian McKellen as Two and Jim Caviezel as Six, here at amctv.com too.
Mr. McGoohan. Thank-you for what you have given us. It will live on in the hearts and minds of many fans for a long, long time.
Be Seeing You.
